  1. Try using Windows Update then, maybe it'll be able to install the service packs. Also look for the latest drivers for your motherboard's chipset and/or storage controller(s).

    That's very weird

Try this: install service pack 1 for Vista, reboot, install service pack 2, reboot, then do as I said before (copying the text shown by ImgBurn).

    Hi.

Tried to install the service packs but it said that some files where missing so it couldn`t complete the installation.

    maybe my vista is fucked?

  4. Hi.

I try to burn a backup xbox game on a dual layer dvd and all of a sudden it says ready(disc needs formatting) but i put in a brand new dual layer dvd. i`ve had the dvd burner for about a year and burnt around 50 backup copies, can it ne the case that i need a new one????

up until like a month ago it has worked perfect every time to burn the dual layer dvds.

  5. have you tried cleaning the lens ? make sure you are using the latest firmware and try 1 @ 8x failing that get some Verbatim MKM-001-00 2.4x speed disc's and burn @ 2.4 then buy a new burner if not better.

    Hi.

Nope havent cleansed the lens, so you think the problem might be the burner?

thanks for helping me out man.

  6. You will have to excuse my reading skills from the log you posted where you say you used Verbatim all I can see is the word shite

Thanks for the quick reply. I followed your instructions, was burning fine and the first pass was around 80% and then I got the an error (see the attachment). I clicked "try again", got the same error back, and then clicked "Continue" at which point Image Burn stopped the operation. I have cut and pasted the log here. Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong.
