  1. I need to know what DVD burners are the best to burn Double Layer discs on. The 2 I currently have waste more discs than actually get burned. I am using Verbatim discs and getting mainly coasters from them also. So I really need to buy a burner that will hopefully last more than 20 burns. I am currently using a sony and a HP ( no idea what versions but they are multi-burners.
  2. thank you ever so much. that answered my question. it also explains why I've had so much good luck with these Sony discs.
  3. I know the disc, I want to know the Dye

I've yet to get a bad one despite the fact they weren't that expensive, which is surprising as I usually lose between 4 and 8 single layer discs per 100 spindle.
  5. How would I go about finding out what dye a disc uses. I have used a lot of different Discs. Some great some just plain lousy. What I need to find out is how can I tell what dye a disc has on it. I've never seen this information on the disc or on the package . Does Imageburn have this information in the log or anywhere else? Because I still have 5 different brands of discs here at home that I have to use up. ( I just bought a 100 lot spindle of single layer DVD+R's Verbatim and 2 20 packs of double layer 2.4 Verbatim's. ) So how can I get the information I need? Thank you Edtheaminal
  6. Advanced Azo Recording Dye Model 95101 is this dye any good for burning?
  7. changing the write speed helped. thank you
  8. I attached the log, I'll try it again ImgBurn10-18-2009.log
  9. This is the Error message I get: Finalise Disc failed devise [0:1:0] Hd dvd writer 1040: EH 25[E:]ATA Reason Session Fixation Error writing Lead out The Log is attached. I know now that these discs aren't worth a salt. I get 1 to work out of every 5 or 6 but it is usually an I/O error not this one. I've had 3 fail this way now. Any ideas anyone? I have the latest firmware and software for this drive. Thank you for your help! EdtheAminal
  10. I was wondering if there were plans on making Imageburn compatible with the newest version of alcohol 120% which uses mds-2 and mdf-2 files? When I try to burn my alcohol files I get an error message saying Image burn only supports mds-1 files.
  11. I just tried to burn a mds file ( mdf, mds) but was told that Imageburn only supported version1 of this type and not version2. This is the Error messafe I received and I quote: " Only version 1.X MDS files are supported and this one is Version 2.0 " Does this thread therefore belong in suggestions for the next version of Imageburn?
  12. I have 2 Multi Drives. They are cd/dvd/dldvd Burners all in one . 1 is also a light scribe. When I try to burn using a cd many times it formats the cd's as a dvd. this makes it unusable on my daughters computer which doesn't have a dvd drive ! any ideas? a log isn't needed as the burn went perfect except for the format!
