  1. post a log from when you used the verbatim disc then.
  2. Please stop as I can offer no more advise without feeling guitly you are wasting disc's when I am maybe missing the obvious. controller issues if the same computer was used the drives just look like they cannot write
  3. has the drive ever managed to burn anything on dvd + r DL ?
  4. clean lens and try 8x I prefer Verbatim MKM-001-00 2.4x as opposed to the 8x MKM-003-00 ones you have. Make sure your firmware on writer is latest which I pretty sure it is so try cleaning the lens and burning at the rated 8x speed. Maybe the controller the writer is on and the driver is responsible. If using nforce chipset eg and you installed the nvidia ide storage driver, take it out via windows device manager removing controller letting windows assign its own standard controller and If using Jmicron controller update drivers etc.
  5. post the full log and not a partial log in one go without scrolling
  6. I meant where is your bin cos every one of the disc's by the sounds of it will ALL work fine on my xbox 360 non xtreme firmware (so I could have had a cheap backup - If I had of not already bought the game) Chimps (lol) the only nuts around here are hanging from your head mate
  7. http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_993-fil...F_SB03.exe.html change your sata cable, then change sata port, update sata drivers or remove ide storage driver them if nforce chipset. chage ahci in bios to ide emulated and try firmware update again. try another source for SB03
  8. try a lens cleaner in the meantime and wait till you have the verbs to burn
  9. You only have the choice of using Verbatim if you want success or best chance as there are no firmware updates for that drive that I know of as I also have that drive.
  10. Have you changed brand of cdr yet ?
  11. Wonder where his bin is ? :lol 10x working backups
  12. If you have any chance of backing up those type of disc's as in the past people have had trouble .. You should be at least using DVD+R DL(Verbatim MKM-001-00) as you can set the layerbreak on those and indeed on any DVD +R DL (you cannot specify where on - R DL)
  13. Auld Lang Syne was cued up on your decks was it ?
  14. You really should be using MKM 001-00 and not the 8x verbs ... not sure how old your slimline drive is but even some very recent drives do not like MKM 003-00 as much as they like MKM 001-00. Clean the lens with some lint free cloth or use cd cleaner if you have to and choose 4x instead of 2.4x then get some 2.4x MKM-001-00 then if still the same then get and external usb writer. if your machine is a dell they seem to have A104 firmware http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloa...p;fileid=239730 please re check everything though That A104 firmware also has 4x and 8x write strategies for MKM-003-00 and 2.4x and 4x for MKM-001-00 Firmware: DVDRAM GSA-T10N A104-00 110607 Bootcode: GSA-T10NCORE ------------------------------------------ Overall supported media types: 341 ------------------------------------------ DVD+R9 supported media types: 16 DVD+R supported media types: 96 DVD+RW supported media types: 35 DVD-R9 supported media types: 10 DVD-R supported media types: 133 DVD-RW supported media types: 51 ------------------------------------------ DVD+R9 supported media types: 16 ------------------------------------------ CMC MAG D01-000 4x,2.4x CMC MAG D03-064 8x,4x CMC MAG D04-000 8x,4x INFOME D01-000 2.4x KIC00000 D20-000 2.4x MBIPG101 R10-065 8x,4x MKM 001-000 4x,2.4x MKM 003-000 8x,4x PHILIPS CD2-000 2.4x PHILIPS PD2-000 2.4x PRODISC D01-000 2.4x RICOHJPN D00-001 2.4x RICOHJPN D01-002 8x,4x RICOHJPN D01-067 8x,4x RITEK D01-001 2.4x RITEK S04-001 8x,4x DVD+R supported media types: 96 ------------------------------------------ 001-000 4x,2.4x 0N -032 INC-079 AML 001-000 4x,2.4x AML 002-000 8x,4x BEALL P0 001-000 2.4x BeAll000 P40-000 4x,2.4x BeAll000 P80-000 8x,4x BeAll000 PG0-000 8x,4x CMC MAG E01-000 8x,4x CMC MAG F01-000 4x,2.4x CMC MAG M01-000 8x,4x CMC MAG R01-000 2.4x CO -001 DAXON AZ1-001 4x,2.4x DAXON AZ2-000 8x,4x DAXON AZ3-000 8x,4x DAXON CY3-000 8x,4x DEFAULT 2X -119 2.4x DEFAULT 4X -119 4x,2.4x DEFAULT 8X -119 8x,4x DEFAULT >8X-119 8x,4x DKP 000-000 8x,4x DT-D03 004-000 8x,4x EMDP 000-000 8x,4x GSC502 002-000 4x,2.4x GSC503 H01-000 8x,4x IMC JPN R01-000 8x,4x INFODISC R10-002 4x,2.4x INFODISC R20-000 8x,4x INFOME R20-000 8x,4x IS01 001-000 4x,2.4x ISK -032 LD S03-000 8x,4x LD S04-000 8x,4x LGEP16 001-000 8x,4x MAM M04-000 8x,4x MAXELL 001-000 4x,2.4x MAXELL 002-000 8x,4x MAXELL 003-000 8x,4x MBIPG101 R03-000 4x,2.4x MBIPG101 R04-001 8x,4x MBIPG101 R05-001 8x,4x MCC 004-000 8x,4x MCC..... 001-000 2.4x MCC..... 002-000 4x,2.4x MCC..... 003-000 8x,4x MEDIA ID 001-000 4x,2.4x MJC 005-000 8x,4x NANYA CHX-000 8x,4x NANYA CLX-000 8x,4x NANYA RJB-000 8x,4x OPTODISC F16-000 8x,4x OPTODISC OP1-001 2.4x OPTODISC OR4-000 4x,2.4x OPTODISC OR8-000 8x,4x OPTODISC R16-000 8x,4x PHILIPS C08-000 8x,4x PHILIPS C16-000 8x,4x PHILIPS C16-001 8x,4x PRODISC R01-000 PRODISC R01-001 2.4x PRODISC R02-000 4x,2.4x PRODISC R03-003 8x,4x PRODISC R04-004 8x,4x PRODISC R05-001 8x,4x Philips 081-000 8x,4x Plasmon c01-000 8x,4x Plasmon1 C01-000 8x,4x RICOHJPN R00-001 2.4x RICOHJPN R01-002 4x,2.4x RICOHJPN R02-003 8x,4x RICOHJPN R03-004 8x,4x RITEK M02-001 4x,2.4x RITEK P16-001 8x,4x RITEK R01-001 2.4x RITEK R02-001 4x,2.4x RITEK R03-001 8x,4x RITEK R03-002 8x,4x RITEK R04-001 8x,4x RITEK R05-001 8x,4x SONY D01-000 4x,2.4x SONY D11-000 8x,4x SONY D21-000 8x,4x TDK 001-000 4x,2.4x TDK 002-000 8x,4x TDK 003-000 8x,4x ULTRAN 202-000 8x,4x UME 002-000 8x,4x VDSPMSAB 001-001 4x,2.4x VDSPMSAB 004-001 8x,4x WFKA11 211-000 8x,4x YUDEN000 T01-000 4x,2.4x YUDEN000 T01-001 4x,2.4x YUDEN000 T02-000 8x,4x YUDEN000 T03-000 8x,4x DVD+RW supported media types: 35 ------------------------------------------ CMC MAG W01-000 2.4x CMC MAG W02-000 4x,2.4x CMC MAG W03-000 8x,4x DAXON D42-000 4x,2.4x DAXON W81-000 8x,4x DEFAULT 2X -119 2.4x DEFAULT 4X -119 4x,2.4x INFODISC A01-001 2.4x INFODISC A10-001 4x,2.4x MBIPG101 W04-000 4x,2.4x MBIPG101 W05-000 8x,4x MCC..... 15. Update drives firmware, then try with verbatim if fails post a log from verbatim attempt and not the rubbish you have now
  16. You may also want to check the bios of the machine the log came from and set it back up with right date time etc after the cmos reset or whatever reason it may have reset had a bad checksum etc
  17. why ? +r (dvd-rom) are fine on my Wii as are -r
  18. Lazy people are everywhere. First thing they do is post on forums a question like I switched my light on but it is still dark "What's wrong ?" Pretty obvious what's wrong
  19. ac3 5.1 is best used on 5.1 amp (decoder) speakers etc with sub going thru dvd to tv will downmix to stereo. Some options in dvd player can make the sound worse if not set up correctly so try them out.. eg make sue it is set to downmix to stereo, that dynamic compression or whatever its called is set to off, a night mode is also set to off... look under spdif and raw PCM settings on dvd player...also take of any effects in use in dvd player like equaliser ,pop jazz, etc, do the same for TV and do not have text or clear speech enabled on tv or any effects ... You might get a better job from ac3-2.1 when choosing soundtracks for movie when you're shrinking them authoring etc so if you have been ditching ac-3 2:1 then include it and choose from dvd remote on playback or if you are always using sound thru tv etc then ditch the 5.1 and use 2.1 instead.
  20. It's not that good and even then you had to pay for it
  21. If its blowing up on you the drive has seen far too much porn.
  22. pity there is no plugin to actually ask before posting have you ? or do you need to include log ? Yes/No
