  1. Tried WinDVD and Cyberlink Power DVD I reviewed my setup of imgburn and noticed that verify was not checked.
  2. I'm 99.99% sure that I did. O those self doubts!
  3. First, the good news. I did as you recommended. Imgburn went through the process without a glitch. Played the nice music indicating a successful burn. The bad news. The disc does not want to play on any of the stand alone DVD players or computers. The disc runs and runs without booting. It finally stopped on the CPU. I could not open it to see what is on it. This is a Verbatim DVD+R DL burnt with a Sony DRU 720A. Here's data that Imgburn provided: SONY DVD RW DRU-720A JY08 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD+R DL Disc Information: Status: Complete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Sectors: 3,514,160 Size: 7,196,999,680 bytes Time: 780:57:35 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x, 4x DVD?R DL Boundary Information: L0 Data Zone Capacity: 1,842,848 Changeable: No Physical Format Information (ADIP): Disc ID: MKM-001-00 Book Type: DVD+R DL Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,580,607 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,283,519 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Disc ID: MKM-001-00 Book Type: DVD-ROM Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,409,071 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,039,455 Layer Information: Layer 0 Sectors: 1,842,848 (52.44%) Layer 1 Sectors: 1,671,312 (47.56%)

None of the cells meet 'DVD-Video specification' criteria for a potential layer break position. Do you want to continue anyway? I am using ImgTool Classic 0.91.7 to creat an image. My version of Nero is 6.6.1.4. The process had worked flawlessly until recently. I unistalled both Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator 6 Platinum and Nero thinking perhaps a conflict existed between the two when I upgraded my version of Nero. Used RoxiZap to complete the uninstall of Roxio. I reinstalled Nero and did the version upgrade. Still with the same results. I can burn single layer discs successfully after using DVD Shrink, ImgTool Classic, then Imgburn. What am I missing? Thanks
  6. I've been using DVDDecrypter for years. Unfortunately with the same results which has me suspect what UKlightening referred to.
  7. I tried again with the same result. It appears to burn the lead-in then the infamous "incompatible media" message. Looking at the DVD-R it appears to have burnt a third of the media. The DVD burner is a Sony with the most recent firmware update. I've not tried dual-layer DVD+R yet so I don't know if it's a +R/-R issue. Addendum: The +/-R burns made with Roxio play fine on our Pioneer DVD Player but not our Phillips using the el cheapo CMC media. Using the Verbatim all burns (Roxio) play on all of our machines. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Imgburn in case I had a bad install.

  9. I hope Verbatim isn't trying to pull a fast-one on us. Now you see my confusion. The discs image burns with no problem using Roxio. The image burns fine with Imgburn using el cheapo CMC DVD+R discs.
  10. I followed your advice. Tried verbatim DVD+L double layer. My burner has never worked as well as it does now. I had to spend money to save money. Thank you!! As fate would have it I tried a single layer Verbatim DVD-R and received the same error message as originally with the Memorex using the latest version of Imgburn. 12. Here it is. The Burner is a Sony DRU 720A with firmware update JY08. I 16:24:24 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) (Speeds: 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x) The media you are using is JUNK. While I can't tell you if this is the cause of your problem I can tell you that even if you get a successful burn, the disc will soon thereafter become corrupt. I would suggest you use either TY or Verbatim discs. Thanks -- so much for buying a so-called brand name (Memorex)!
