  1. I am using 1.1.0.0, which has caused no apparent problems for me, but should I still upgrade?
  2. Sorry, I dont have a log file, cuz I didnt save it. I use verbatim media, so that shouldnt be the prob. Here is what imgburn says though for the last recorded dvd: Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Disc ID: MKM-001-00 Book Type: DVD-ROM Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,580,607 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,215,343 Layer Information: Layer 0 Sectors: 2,018,736 (50%) Layer 1 Sectors: 2,018,736 (50%) See anything interesting or important? The burn went off without a hitch just like all others, so I dunno what could be the prob. Also, my other dvd drive wont read it at all and doesnt like trying to, which is how it also reacts to dvd+r dl booktype, though I check many times and this dvd claims to be dvd-rom booktype.
  3. I justed burned about my 7-8 DL dvd and it's jacked up. I've made one coaster (no clue why), and one that had wrong booktype (not changed to dvd-rom), but other than that, been successful at having working dual layer dvd's. The one just I burned though fits between these, lol. The dvd burner will read it most of the time, and appears to be fine when it does. My dvd-rom drive and standalone player wont recognize the disk at all, which is what happened when I had wrong booktype in previous dvd. I checked the booktype both in imgburn and my dvd-rw software, and it says this media is dvd-rom booktype. So now I am lost on why only my dvd burner will read it, but nothing else. The burn went smooth, so are there any ideas as to why this happened to me? Thanks.
  4. If I create an ISO with pgcedit and there are 0 byte VOB files in it, will imgburn handle these ok, cuz I've heard some burning programs have issues with them? What is the point of 0 byte VOBs anyhow?
  5. If I change the files so they just skip over stuff, should I delete the actual content I skip over or just leave it on the DVD? I figure if I leave it on the layer break wouldn't change, which is why I am asking if this is a good idea or not. Also, do I take off the layer break flag off if I delete out other stuff, or just leave it and it will get changed automatically or when it asks me where to set it? Thanks.
  6. Ok, I successfully burned a DVD+R DL and it works like a dandy in my old standalone player, no skips that I saw or anything like that . I now want to try editing the DVD a little, like taking out annoying screens or previews, etc. I figure I'll use pgcedit for that as well as making the ISO for imgburn. My question is about the layer break for an edited project like this. I have just been burning ISOs from file rips of dvd decrypter and the layer break flag is still intact and I leave it when asked where to put it before burning. I figure the break should be changed when I take out stuff, so how exactly do I know where to put it? Do I remove the old flag first before creating the ISO? Will pgcedit and/or imgburn put the flag where it should be, or do I have to do some things to figure out where it should go? I figure in pgcedit, no colored areas will appear to know where the recommended place it, so I am just curious about how to do this, or if I even need to worry about this. Thanks for any help.
  7. Thanks for the re-assurance. I risked another precious DL dvd and this time changed the book type to dvd-rom. It works in both standalone and pioneer dvd player, so thats made me happy . I still think it's weird my pioneer won't read dvd+r DL book type though, and I can't find any firmware for it or info related to this issue anyhow. Oh well I guess. Thanks though.
  8. I just picked u my first set of DL disks (verbatim) and have read up and figured pgcedit and imgburn were the programs to use for it. I read all about the layer break stuff and created an ISO with pgcedit from files I ripped with dvddecrypter. I then burned to DL disk successfully using imgburn, but it wont play. My burner, Lite-on, will play it using powerdvd just fine, but my standalone and my internal Pioneer 120S dvd drive won't even recognize the disc. I thought it might be book type since my stand alone is older and a cheap one, but wouldn't my computer dvd drive at least read it? I used that drive to rip the files I am burning in the first place. Is it possible the pioneer doesn't support DVD+DL?? Also, I want to try another burn, this time remebering to change my book type, but when I change it in imgburn, it says successful, but the window on the right still shows DVD+RL in both top and bottom parts, even when I refresh. Why? I even downloaded the lite-on utility to specifically change the bittype, and it says it changes it, but when I query it again, its just back to the DVD+RL spec. Why won't it stay?? Thanks for any help you can provide me with
