    I 11:59:09 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: ProdiscF02) (Speeds: 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x)

    I 11:59:09 Destination Media Sectors: 2,297,888

I have no doubt what I highlighted would be your problem.

Try some TY discs or Verbs with MCC dye.

If you want persist with the ones you got, then lower your burn speed and see what happens, altho this is not really a fix, the discs are just shite.

Forget the lat bit, I see your drive only burnt them 6X anyway even tho you selected max, just while you're at it, you might want to check for firmware updates for your drive.

  2. Computer drives are more picky than stand alone players, your drive simply can't read the disc you burnt, try updating the firmware for that drive, that might do the trick fot you.

Oh, and do yourself a favour, switch to verb +R DL media, it will save you a lot of headaches in the future.

  3. Altercuno,

You do make a good point, a lot of the posts we get are in fact media related.

Here is the bad part about your suggestion, pending on drive/firmware/OS combination, some crap discs burn very well with certain combo's, so, to warn against a certain brand/MID would be embarrassing when it burns so well.

  4. Ensure you have a DVD writer.

Ensure you are in write mode.

Ensure you insert a disc supported by your writer.

Ensure you have selected the correct drive.

Last but not list, please post the log, otherwise we'll just be guessing. ;)

  5. That being said, the 3 things you listed boils down to 1 thing right? The standalone that I like to use (the Toshiba) is wearing out or just don't support DL media? As it still plays everything else but the DL media awsome.

I think this is the case kirk. :)

Oh, just one thing comes to mind, have you got a log for this thing? Did the disc finalize ok?

  6. There realy are no answers to crappy discs, you can't make strawberry jam out of shit, so to speak.

Even if you successfully burn to these things, chances are you won't be able read them back.

Verb +R DL's are the only ones that work right, sorry, no suggestions from me.
