  1. Thanks a lot mmalves! That's just what I needed. I'm curious though, does this end up converting mp3s to WAVs or does it make mp3s play on CD players with no MP3 capability? The reason I ask is I could fit all the music on a CD as mp3s, but with wavs it'll need a few.
  2. Under "Tools", I see "Create DVD MDS File", but nothing above that as seen in the screen shot. Is this a feature for future versions? Thanks for any help! On another note, it's ironic that this guide is posted today because just earlier I burned a few Christmas CDs (using CDs for the first time in years) and learned that just converting FLAC into WAVs and burning it onto a disc will not work, so I came here looking for an answer. Good timing!
  3. It's a NEC 3550A. It has always been using 100% before, so it dipping to 96% is a bit strange.
  4. For some reason, in my burns lately, the device buffer has been a constant 96% instead of the usual 100%. The media is the same as I've always used and the burner is too. I've also noticed that sometimes the device buffer drops to 0% then goes back up to 96% on large burns (around 4.3-4.4gb ones). I'm burning at 4x, which isn't too fast, so I'm not sure if it's my drive starting to fail or maybe it's my HD being fragmented and can't stream data to the drive fast enough? It's not much of a problem (I'm mostly curious why this could be happening and if it's a possible hardware problem) but the buffer getting emptied in the middle of the burns adds about 1-2 minutes to burns because the write speed temporarily drops when the buffer is emptied.
  5. Ah yes, been waiting for a new version. Certainly a lot of new features, great job!
  6. I forgot to turn AnyDVD off during a burn/verification, so I'm curious how does AnyDVD affect ImgBurn during the verification? I assume that AnyDVD may mess around with some files and throw off the verification? My disc ended up verifying correctly, but I wanted to make sure it truely did verify correctly and that AnyDVD didn't come in and cause an incorrect burn to verify correctly. Just need some reassurance.
  7. Just burned a DVD-R sucessfully, and the semaphore error no longer occurs, so thanks Shamus_McFartfinger, kevdriver, and LIGHTNING UK! for the help!
  8. Hmph, I'm puzzled. The DVD-RW is burning error-free (at least so far). I'll have to test a DVD-R afterwards. Any reason why it would be different this time just because I did a full erase?
  9. It's nice to know that. That is what puts ImgBurn lightyears ahead of Nero or any other burning software- a better product and the community is just great! I've finished doing a full erase. Should I attempt another burn?

I was able to burn fine the other day, but for some reason this morning I get this error when burning. Tried on two DVD-Rs, same error, then tested on a DVD-RW and same error as well. Does this mean the drive's shot? It reads files fine.
  11. Alright, thanks guys! ImgBurn is great!
  12. I have a drive thats 3 years old, would it still be protected from buffer underruns?

I found this is my error log when reviewing a burn. It only occurred once and the disc ended up verifying correctly, but I was wondering if this would have affected the burn. I haven't tested the DVD yet, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't a buffer underrun problem and that the disc will be fine.
