sweet, thanks for all your hard work!
-
what could cause this?
-
the ones I have are from Singapore.....
-
looks as though its my media, these Verbatim batch of discs are bad or something. I tried another 100 pack I had bought, and those are now burning fine.
UPDATE: spoke to soon, the new drive is spitting out nothing but garbage now....
-
Well my drive was still within the 30 days of purchase, and I exchanged it for a different one, and now the new drive is still doing the same thing...

The last two burns I am receiving the following error:
I 15:50:50 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.0 started!
I 15:50:50 Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1)
I 15:50:53 Destination Device: [0:1:0] TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S203N SB02 (D:) (ATAPI)
I 15:50:53 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: MCC-004-00) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x, 18x, 20x)
....
....
W 15:58:14 Potential 'WaitImmediateIO' Deferred Error - (99%, 0/3) - Program Memory Area Update Failure
W 15:58:14 Finalise Disc Failed! - Reason: Program Memory Area Update Failure
What does this mean? What can I do to correct it?
It was working fine this morning; this is my third burn today, and it just started acting up. No new burner drive, no new firmware, no driver updates, everything is the same.

Just as soon as its been throughly tested and the Boss chooses to release it.
sounds good, looking forward to it, any chance on the version number? is this going to be an update to 2x series or are we talking about 3x? if you can say....
-
so any hints to when the next release may come out with this audio cd support?
-
dvd players are VERY forgiving , if you can burn and verify it should be good to go.
i just don't trust discs that have high errors from the start, as some inferior discs degrade over (sometimes short) time
yah, well I only use Verbatim or Sony discs when burning....and all the screenshots in this post, were all vertified after burn with Imgburn....well glad I can relax and enjoy burning! thanks for the help everyone!
-
so ultimately isn't the disc having bad sectors and unreadable the deciding factor? I mean according to some of the numbers which are high on the PIF tests...the burn is crap, but when played back on a dvd player, or dvd-rom, the data is fully readable? Am I not getting something here? thanks
-
-
on the example link you gave me, it only had for PIF 78, and mine is 2151, and so how does my rating get an 97% and theres get 98%, seems to me a difference of 2073 would be a lot...
-
the last scan is certainly acceptable. jitter can affect the quality result dramatically but the scan looks good
thanks for all your help, one last question, what numbers are consider acceptable, and what is not consider acceptable?
-
looks a lot better than posts 1,4 and 12
would you say its acceptable burn? or the burner is showing signs of wear and tear/age?
-
-
-
so what exactly do these graphs/numbers mean? I mean if I can read the data fine, how does this really effect the disc and the data on the disc? especially since I can read the same disc on the same drive and get different numbers each time, even though they are around the same....
also, is C1 one good, and C2 bad?
-
-
what is C1/C2 - P1/PO test?
-
-
-
1. No. No-one has such a crystal ball. Some players are more forgiving than others anyway.
2. Not sure just on a single burn. Check out some other ones that you do.
Your blanks should be OK. Usually, you see poor stats on the outside (end) of the disk. Do some more tests, perhaps also in a different burner. Maybe burn at slower speed as a test (8x). Is there a log????
Regards
log of the burn?

so with the disc being out of spec, does this imply that 1) the disc may/may not play correctly in a future date? 2) does this mean my burner is bad and doesn't burn good anymore?
or really if the disc, does not meet the spec, how does this affect me? short/long term?
thanks for your help.
-
The disk is certainly out of ECMA spec. I'd re-burn.
Anything happen to the data flow while you were burning? Is there a log?
Regards
there were no errors durig the burn, and the disc plays fine though? so how can the disc be out of ECMA specs, when it plays fine?
