  1. It's still on their forum, un-answered.
  2. I did ask ArcSoft but got no response. Comparing the support for an expensive software vs ImgBurn which is free ....
  3. Here is the report dvd file: HDDVD, BDR works MDS file: nothing works However, PowerDVD can play all of them fine, except can't use the menu. What will happen if I set the book type for DVD+R DL to BDR?
  4. I've cleared OPC history and burned 2 discs successfully while the machine is idling. I'd hope the good luck continues. Thanks for the help
  5. Is it a good idea to clear OPC history after firmware update? I was having trouble and another forum suggested me doing that. Do I need to run ImgBurn as administrator in order to do this? I've run it w/o being admin and changed a few things such as force hyper tuning in LiteOn writer. Then I found the setting unchanged when I run it again. Thanks
  6. I only have the older version of Daemon Tools that's for 32-bit system only. Hope it has a trial version now for 64-bit. How do I create the proper .mds file? Thanks
  7. The retail package says the disc is 4X. When I first got it, I left ImgBurn to run as MAX and it produced the first coaster (it runs about 6X). After that, I've set it AWS (4X) and had no problem. All other options appear to be higher speed. Will that make things worse? The only change in b/w is the firmware upgrade from PL01 to PL04. Should I try to downgrade (I actually can't find a way to do it as LiteOn uses SmartPack to upgrade only)? Will download Opti Drive Control and try it. Thanks
  8. All the disc I've used are from the same batch. The success rate before yesterday was really good. One bad one was burned when I was running another program with significant disc activity on the same hard drive. The other one was burned while the machine is idling. Do you think it's just matter of hitting a bad stretch? I will try 2X but it will take a lot longer so I'd hope to return to 4X. Is there a free alternative to Opti Drive Control? Thanks
  9. Windows 7 64-bit, LiteOn iHBS112 I've burned about 30 BD-R single layer without any problem. Yesterday I've upgraded to firm from PL01 to PL04. Now, out of 4 discs, I have 2 failed at verification. The log is at the bottom and I've taken out most of repetitive messages. There are mainly 2 types of errors: I 22:53:29 Verifying Sectors... 10. I can confirm removing CERTIFICATE folder does not change the outcome. Is there a way to test the book type with image and virtual drive? Thanks
  11. Setting MediaType=DVD make the book type DVD-ROM. Now TMT complains about the mounted disc too. Is there a way try other book type such as Normal and DVD+R DL? Thanks
  12. Could you point me the a link about how to do this? This is probably the quickest way to test if Virtual CloneDrive can be manipulated to simulate different book type. Thanks
  13. I just read a bit more details in the guide at http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6232 It did not actually mention Lite-on. Should I disabled Auto 'Change Book Type'? Thanks
  14. I've got the following information below. PowerDVD can play the disc, except it can't render the menu. The mounted ISO works fine. There are 2 sections for physical format information: ADIP has DVD+R DL vs Last Record has DVD-RAM The ISO mounted via Virtual CloneDrive has not book type information. They also have different Current Profile. Not sure if they are relevant. In Settings -> Write tab -> Page 1, I see Auto 'Change Book Type' (*) -- checked Use 'Normal' For BD Video Disc (*) -- unchecked Should I check the 2nd option? 15. Thanks for pointing them out. I will update. I'd like to clear a few things before doing the burning again to avoid more coasters. Is there a different booktype to try? If so, how do I control it? I have a few DVD+RW available (SL though) so that I can experiment if needed. Thanks
