  1. Good news! I just successfully burned and verified a DVD +R and DVD-R, both Verbatim, so my hardware is OK. Thank you to everyone that responded! Issue Resolved!
  2. Thank you! Firmware 4.25 is for OEM units; my unit is from bulk, thus there is one slightly newer 2.25 version. That being said, its been fine for 4 years with v.2.24 so I don't believe my problem is firmware. Yes, its possible its the CMC (Maxell) media. I just ruined a second disk. I have only a few left. Then I will try to get the Verbatim, as TY are scarce in my area. I don't burn that often and spindles last a long time, so I prefer to buy smaller spindles. What can be said about being able to play the DVD to the end, but getting Read Errors during Verify, all on the same optical drive? Any opinion on Sony DVD-R 50-pack spindle quality (see attachment)? I don't know the disk manufacturer, but they are on sale nearby. Thanks again!

  4. Thank you Cynthia. The log was unfortunately destroyed when I restored to V.2.5.5.0 from backup. I get same error as soon as I attempt to select a file from the Verify dialog. This happens even when I put in a blank disc and try to verify against the ISO file. If I try to verify the written disc with no (ISO) image file, it works up to 95% then I get this error (how can a verification have meaning without a file to verify against?) I am really clueless on this. ------------- BEGIN Log --------------------------- I 20:44:32 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! 5. Lets say I want to revert to a prior version. Installer tells me it will reset my settings but does not give me the option to abort the install, thus deleting my settings. May I suggest a portable version, or the option to store settings locally in an imgburn.ini file, so it can be recovered from a backup? I think I found the Imgburn settings in the second partition's registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ImgBurn. For the first time ever I am getting an I/O error during a DVD Verify operation following a successful Imgburn "Write Image file to disk" operation. I do not understand this error message. It is occurring on two separate XP SP3 partitions on same computer, one with V.2.5.5.0 (which has never reported this error), the other with V.2.5.6.0. I presume DVD drive or media are suspect, but I am clueless on the message. How can I tell if the problem is with the Disc or Drive? Thank you.
  6. I have 'Cycle Tray Before Verify' selected as you previously advised. Is it possible to keep the notebook tray from ejecting like it used to? This saves me time if I am temporarily away from my notebook while burning and verifying. I am using version 2.5.2.0. Thank you!
  7. What I need is the proper setting so the tray will not eject after writing and before verifying. I am looking at the Write tab, there is page 1 and page 2. What do I need to change, so the tray does not eject and require the human user to manually push the tray back in before the Verify begins? Could you please be specific as to what I need to set? Thank you.
  8. I've been using ImgBurn for years without mishap and it has never failed. The tray auto-cycling before verify worked fine on my NEC ND-6500A slim drive. But it stopped working somewhere along the way , possibly after updates, and I would appreciate help on getting it working again. Thanks in advance!
  9. ImgBurn @ 4x = Success. Thanks! Assuming I have a successfully burned DVD that has been through DVDD, DVDShrink, and ImgBurn. Sometime later (after I've deleted the ISO) I want to make an exact copy of this new DVD. I can Data DVD copy using Nero for this. But will any other method produce a better copy? Thanks!
  10. Thanks blutach! I will burn at 4x. I'm just starting on a new spindle of disks: Media code/Manufacturer ID: RICOHJPN4R0; Media Product Revision Number 04h. Are these OK? After that I will seek out TY's or get Verbatims . Thanks again!
  11. I?m new at dvd processing, but have successfully backed up about a dozen dvd?s using latest DVDD/DVDShrink/Nero with no problems. I just tried using DVDShrink/Imgburn 2.1.0.0, and got numerous errors near the end of the VERIFY step. I used the same disks I have always used. I then successfully made 2 more test backups with DVDShrink/Nero with no problems. I would like to believe Imgburn is better than Nero. I am clueless as to what is wrong. I have a new notebook with new NEC 6500A drive with up to date firmware. I have DMA enabled on XP. I Could someone please look at the log and give me a clue how to avoid errors? Are there specific settings I should confirm? I would really like Imgburn to work for me, but settings are confusing to me. Thanks! ImgBurnSave.log
