OK, this was my first BD-R DL burn. DVD+R DL disc's have always burned just fine. When ImgBurn failed to pop up a layer break dialog I assumed that layer breaks worked differently on BD-R DL discs and that ImgBurn would handle it automatically. And that's what assumption gets you! :-( Learn from my idiocy! ;-) OS: Windows 7 Ultimate N 64bit with SP1 Optical Drive: HL-DT-ST-BD-RE (LG WH14NS40) ATA Device ImgBurn: v2.5.8.0 Media: Verbatim BD-R DL 50GB 6X (White silkscreened label with blue writing) Playback Software: MPC-HC (64bit) v1.7.10 (d911f14) build date Nov 14 2015 18:25:24 After burning, with no apparent errors in log, during playback, layer0 plays back just fine. When it gets to the "layer break area," where it should start playing layer1, instead it skips to the end of layer1 and stops playback. The data is there as I can manually go back to that, "layer break area," and start playback of layer1. But of course it makes for an undesirable home cinema experience to say the least. VLC v2.2.4 plays both layers back to back but there is a visual greying out at the "layer break area." I don't use VLC because I can't get AC3 audio with it. PowerDVD plays over the "layer break area," smooth as silk, but again I can't get AC3 Audio. MPC-HC is my preferred player because It uses AC3 Filter, which is a third party AC3 passing/encoding program. My receiver can't decode DTS audio, only AC3. Why I have to use AC3 Filter to get 5.1 to my receiver via the SPDIF output on my MB is beyond me. But I just have to have my 5.1. ;-) Any knowledge on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Is there some way to force ImgBurn to set up layer breaks with BD-R DL discs? Or should I look to the player software as the fix? TIA! So am I to assume that no one knows if Enhanced dual-layer disc support with fast layer change equates to a player that doesn't need the layer break cell to be marked as non-seamless? Thanks in advance! Happy Holidays! "Peace on earth, goodwill to men"

When backing up my DVD's with ImgBurn (currently v2.5.7.0) with the default options, I notice a minute (mahy-noot) pause between layers. I've seen the two selectable options on the "Dual Layer Break Position" popup screen, that are not selected by default. I'm curious as to whether the "seamless" option shall negate this small visual hiccup? After selecting "seamless" another popup screen says: "You should only enable this option if you know for a fact that your player does not need the layer break cell to be marked as non-seamless. Are you sure you want to enable it?" In my players, an Oppo DV-980H, Datasheet, is has the following section: Compatibility Features: • PAL/NTSC disc and TV compatible with automatic or manual system conversion • Dual-laser optical pickup head with excellent error correction • Enhanced dual-layer disc support with fast layer change • Wide range universal power supply (~100V-240V, 50/60Hz AC) Speciffically, I was wondering if anyone knew if the above line, that I've highlighted in red, indicated that, to which the ImgBurn software was referring. My problem is that of non standardization of nomenclature, which is quite common. I really can't afford any coasters because I can't buy DVD media with my food card.
