I have some TDK dual layer (8GB) DVD-R but I don't want to waste them. Will checking "Test mode" perform the burn without touching the actual disk? I'm Installing the drivers right now, I'll let you know my results.
Also I might be able to find some verbatim dual layer ones....
EDIT: Ok. Installed the drivers, still get the error (with the cheap DVDs). I'm gonna go to my old pc now and try to burn the same ISO to a cheap DVD using my old 7 year old DVD drive and my new one, to see if the drive is actually the problem. Once I get my hands on Verbatim disks I'll tell you how that went
EDIT 2: I've plugged the drive to my old pc and... wow it is actually burning the disk! (well in test mode right now, but i'm gonna burn it normally once it ends, So where does that lead us?
Drive works fine on other computer even with shitty DVD-Rs. Driver problem? SATA port? I'll check the cable and port once I finish burning.
EDIT 3: The disk burned perfectly and is working (the cheap DVD). I tried burning the same ISO on my pc but on a different SATA port and... Boom! It works just fine. Time to test the cable before comluding that my SATA port is busted.
Final Edit: Well, seems like I now have 5 working SATA ports instead of 6... Damn. Anyway at least now I am aware of the motherboard problem. I think I'll RMA it when I'll be able to live without a PC for a month.
Thank you LIGHTNING UK! for helping me, even when my problem did not even come from imgburn Keep developing this awesome program!
Yet another EDIT: AND NOW IT'S WORKING FINE? WTF I am really confused. I connected an hdd to that sata port and it didn't get recognized in BIOS nor did windows boot. Now I put back the DVD to that port and it works like charm... Maybe a cable has been moved out of place? I have no idea. I'm glad everything works again.
And again, thank you for all your help!
