US Sci-Fi Channel to air new Doctor Who

Finally, the US fans (dbminter? ) can watch the 2005 series on TV... SCI FI Channel announced Jan. 12 that it will air the first season of the BBC's hit SF series Doctor Who, starting in March. The 13 episodes, starring Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, will air as part of SCI FI Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=0&id=34141 Oh, and earlier on, I stumbled upon the filming of the Cybermen episode from series 2. The road where the BBC were filming was closed, but the pub on the road was open, and we had a good view. And a few pints too... I saw three very big, scary, silver Cybermen walking about in a threatening manner.

US Sci-Fi Channel to air new Doctor Who

Well, whatever you thought of the final episode (it was a bit patchy IMO) it was an outstanding success with the public. It had the highest ratings of the week (10.57 million viewers) and an Appreciation Index of 91. Minority programmes often get high AI indexes, but to get a rating of 91 with 10.57 million viewers is unheard of.

US Sci-Fi Channel to air new Doctor Who

Yes, the second part is very good too. I see that sci fi has allocated a 90 minute slot to Journey's End (which is 65 minutes) so it won't be cut at all!

US Sci-Fi Channel to air new Doctor Who

Yes, we get all the crap types of TV shows here - Judge Judy is on quite often unfortunately... Anyway, back to more quality TV... I don't think new Who gets too bogged down with continuity. But apparently there are loads of references to both classic Who and early new Who in the finale, so I expect we'll find out how and why Davros survived. Personally I can't wait! And the second part of the finale is 60 minutes, rather than 45, so sci fi will have to allocate a bigger timeslot to it. Or cut it to shreads... But, of course, you'll be seeing the finale episodes uncut and without ads!

You're in for a treat, db. Turn left was great. And the finale looks amazing. And the Great Healer is back! Here's the latest trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=be4_WuPSxZc&fmt=18

US Sci-Fi Channel to air new Doctor Who

Whereas I found the episode to be a bit light and fluffy, I thought Donna was much less irritating than I was expecting. Plus it was a genuine shock to see you-know-who near the end.

US Sci-Fi Channel to air new Doctor Who

The Sarah Jane Adventures is great. It's meant for kids, but I loved it. In fact the Doctor Who new season opener felt a lot like a Sarah Jane adventure. And that's about when it started getting good. Blame The Apprentice for the timeslot being changed.

US Sci-Fi Channel to air new Doctor Who

For those that don't know, the new series of Doctor Who starts on 5th April on the BBC, and on 18th April on the US Sci fi channel. The Daleks, the Ood and Rose are back!

    Glitch in Following Guide

DVD-lab will only author MPEG files, so the conversion (if any) must have been done with an MPEG encoder. It looks as though the authoring failed for some reason. Check the DVD-lab log or report to see if it gives a clue as to what went wrong.

    The 'Translations' Topic!

With DKLang Translation Editor, if you open both the new .dklang file (as source file), plus your latest .lng file (as existing translation file), it will recognise which are the new strings and add them to your .lng file ready for translation.

    The 'Translations' Topic!

The next version, probably, is the version that will support language files. It's due out very soon now. But I think LIGHTNING_UK wanted to get some translations ready for when the new version is released.
  18. AFAIK it only auto bitsets DVD+R dual layer to DVD-ROM, but you can't make it bitset +R or +RW discs.

Help with this error message please

Without a log it's difficult to say what the problem is, but your firmware seems well out-of-date. You are on BGS4, and the latest is BS0Y. Update the firmware and see if that helps. http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/ODD/SOHW...re/DR16BS0Y.zip

Does Pioneer DVR-112D burn DVD+R and DVD+R DL media well?

My 20A1P is noisy when burning a smallish amount of data, but okay when doing a full disc. But it's been really good so far (zero coasters) so I can put up with sound of a jet engine now and again...

US Sci-Fi Channel to air new Doctor Who

For all you American Torchwood fans (if there are any!) BBC America starts showing the new series/season (2) on 26 January. BBC UK haven't announced the date here yet, so it looks like the US will be getting it at the same time as the UK. Or even before...

    On Error, Activate Window

I think it's a good suggestion. Maybe the user could have the option of the taskbar flashing or a messagebox (or both).
  24. digidragon

It sure does. Just go into Build mode, and drag the avi files into the window, and burn.
