  1. What you see in the video is me pressing skip ever few seconds to progress to the next track, then the 4th track change in the video at 11 seconds would be the first track after the layer break and you can hear the buzzing sound, does that give you any idea what the issue is?
This is happening with a bunch of DVD+RDL 24bit/96 discs I’ve burned this week, both DVD-Audio and DVD-Video.
Here’s the video I just put on my You Tube:

  2. Oh no, I discovered last night at least 2 more DVD+RDL's I burned yesterday are having problems in my player.

One disc has a 1 second spot it goes silent for a second, another disc kind of freezes for a bit and my player makes an almost kind of grinding sound! - both these spots I found on 2 discs last night aren't even near the layer breaks which I origially thought were the issue. I'm having these problems with proper DVD-Audio discs burned with Cirlinca DVD-Audio, and also now normal DVD-Video I made with just the music I wanted with black video screen.... I haven't had any problems in 10 years, must be something to do specificaly with DVD+RDL with 24/96 audio on it. I cleaned the laser today with rubbing alcohol and cotton bud and the same issue is there... It doesn't happen with the discs in my PC or laptop drives or Blu-ray player from the quick tests I've done...

Any idea if it seems like a 'laser' problem in my player or more 'electronics' ? I see I can buy a supposedly brand new laser on eBay.

  3. Thanks for the info, well I'm hopeful that means if the 2nd layer was only burned as padding then hopefully during the audio it won't need to switch layers, therefore hopefully no pause!

OK the last 2 days I've successfully burned to Verbatim dual layer DVD+RDL Video's I made with audio only using Audio Muxer.

I've had 5 successful burns the last 2 days without any problems, however this afternoon burning another DVD+RDL I got an error during the Verify process, also using Verbatim DVD+RDL.

I really don't know but seeing as it burned and errored during Verify I'm guessing it seems to be a bad disc or something wrong with the disc itself?, not the files I'm trying to burn.

EDIT = Have since burned the exact same files successfully to a disc from same box.

  4. Just to be clear that burn to dual layer that only needed a single layer disc was not an ISO, it was a DVD/video folder that had audio only, made it with Audio Muxer program.

I was hoping it only burned to 1 layer, as it didn’t give me any layer break options.... I don’t think you can see by the log where the layer break would be can you? eg. time length into DVD it would be at?, so I could go to that point and see if it pauses like the dual layer proper DVD-Audio audio discs I’ve been making have been...

Getting back to you question, I previewed selected cell and all I see is black screen, obviously as it’s a blank video with audio only. The audio sound was just static/hiss.

  5. Will get back to you when I burn next disc about Preview Selected Cell.

OK so Img Burn let me burn as Video with audio to dual layer DVD even though it said would fit on single layer DVD (this was the same audio set Img Burn refused to burn the Cirlinca programe's DVD-Audio .ISO output to dual layer).

I didn't get any layer break options, so I guess it really only does burn to one layer even though I burned to a dual layer Verbatim DVD+RDL.

Here's the log, do you know if anything at all would have been burned to second layer, or it's all 100% on 1 layer?

    Thanks

  6. I'm going to give up on burning dual layer proper DVD-Audio and use Audio Muxer to make a Video that plays audio with blank screen.

I actually think the problem is my DVD-Audio player is slow to change layer break and pauses, rather than the Cirlinca program having a problem as I haven't had a problem burning DVD-Audio in the 10 years years I've been using the program.

I'm getting these options for layer break, which would be best?, the stars don't indicate any is better than the other, does larger or smaller padding number indicate a better position?, also what does the percentage shown for layer break indicate?, I presumed 50/50 means half recording goes on one layer and half recording goes on the other layer, however I'm confused as it's a 135min recording and it says 50/50 from 22 minutes up to 64 minutes, so obvioulsy the first 22 minutes would't be filling one of the layers, so I'm not sure what the % is actually an indication of, can you please explain?, and is there a prefered area of % to choose?, Screenshot attached:

Also have attached a second screenshot, when I select to have seamless layer break do I keep "don't update IFO/BUP files" unselected?

  7. I thought maybe I need to set layer break, I'm pretty sure the reason a couple of 24bit/96 dual layer DVD-Audio discs I have burned with the Cirlinca DVD-Audio burning program pause for a second or less is because of layer break, a couple of 24bit/96 discs with totally different music files on them both pause at 2hrs00min:59 secs, the rare times they don't pause at that time and play smootlhly you can hear for a fraction of a second inside the machine a mechanical sound which I guess is the laser changing position? Was hoping to try and burn those particular discs again and try to select seamless layer break, but I guess from your answer it's not going to be an option available. Thanks.

  8. mmmm, OK so now I'm trying to write to Verbatim DVD+RDL one of Cirlinca's ISO files (as shown above) which does need to fit on a dual layer (ImgBurn says too big for single layer), however when I go to write mode it just burns straight away, and doesn't give me any options to set layer break position. Choosing Build mode the same as described in my post above happens. Is there a way I can choose and set layer break position?

    Thanks

  9. OK I just tried writing the .ISO in "Build" mode instead of "Write" mode which was causing the problems described above in this thread....

When I have tried writing the .ISO in Build mode I get the following pop up...

    build1.jpg.4d981583aa078192c971e7874ad101a0.jpg

I clicked yes and it successfully burned to a dual layer disc, however it doesn't play in my DVD-Audio player like it would if I click 'write'.

Just wish I could get it to write to dual layer even though it can just squeeze onto single layer successfully....

  10. I created the .ISO file using "save ISO to hard drive" with Cirlinca DVD-Audio Solo 1.6.3, a program that makes proper DVD-Audio and not just a video that plays music...

If it's of any help I have attached a screenshot of the same files I burned "straight to DVD+RDL" using the Cirlinca program instead of first using the program to create .ISO to hard drive then burn with ImgBurn, so I guess the files in the ISO would be the same files you see on the DVD that Cirlinca wrote the original files straight to?,  I don't know about this sort of stuff....

The DVD Cirlinca burned VIDEO_TS says empty, you can see screenshot attached of the DVD layout as it's in my DVD drive.

No I'm not using 'Build', I'm selecting "Write"  the .ISO file on my desktop, that's the correct way to do it isn't it?, it works if I write to single layer DVD, but like I said I want to put it to a dual layer DVD.

Here's the DVD Cirlinca burned files straight to DVD, I think the .ISO would be the same?....

  12. I have a .ISO file of DVD-Audio I want to burn to a Verbatim DVD+R DL, even though the file size will just squeeze onto a single layer DVD I'm trying to burn it to dual layer.

However I keep getting the 2 following screenshots, going around in circles, what do I need to do to be able to write the .ISO to dual layer?

Thanks in advance for any help.

  13. Hello,

First time making / burning Blu Ray.

I use TsMuxeR to output 3 m2v video files + 1 PCM WAV audio file as Blu ray folder.

The folder with original files is 8.04GB, when output through TsMuxeR as Blu ray folder the output file is 8.67GB (is it normal for it to be that much bigger when I'm wanting to be doing this losslessly?).

Then in write mode I drag/drop the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders into ImgBurn, when I hit burn I then get the following error, I have attached a photo of the error in this post.

Does anybody know what the error is?

*maybe worth noting, my PC often errors when burning dual layer DVD's, but the same files burn perfectly on my laptop, maybe this Blu ray error is also specific to my PC? (I can't check at the moment).

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

  14. hahaahah It's not a LiteOn burner.

However about 10 years ago I had a LiteOn CD/DVD burner in a PC, and I noticed when ripping CD's to my hard drive it would swap/reverse the left/right audio channels at random places!, I could not believe something could be so rubbish!

I purchased a new DVD/Blu ray burner later that day!!!

  15. Thanks, so I guess it's either going to completely stop playing at the layer break or be 100% fine?, and I shouldn't worry about there being any little problems at random places throughout the DVD, which was my main concern...

Sounds as though a Blu ray player should be modern enough to handle it!

I haven't tried burning this yet, and I guess I'll find out when I go to burn it, but do I still highlight one of the layer break options and then tick seamless?, or do I just tick seamless without even highlighting one of the options?

    Thanks

  16. Hi,
I'm wondering why the seamless option for layer break exists?, and why the default is not set for seamless?, as why would anybody want a pause at the layer break?, this leads me to believe that ticking seamless may cause some unwanted issues?
I have a layer break pause I don't want in any of the 4 options I have for a particular disc, if I tick seamless what kind of problems could this cause?

  17. Thanks, burned successfully on a laptop, no write retries, and verified successfully with no miscompares or read errors.

Although I'm not sure if there is a disc error or authoring issue?

About 54 mins into the 110min DVD+R DL there's a slight fraction of a second pause, it's not the layer break, and the pause is faster than the layer break, it's also not on a chapter/track.

This pause happens to be during a song I authored by cutting the start and finish which the authoring program smart rendered as I cut not on an I frame, but I'm confused as the DVD has this pause in the 2 Blu Ray / DVD players I've played it in, however when I play the DVD in my PC I burned the DVD on the pause does not happen!

So I'm wondering is this pause related to the authoring?, or is it the disc itself, or something else?, I don't know.....

    Thanks

  18. Hi,

Could somebody please tell my why this burn failed?, I attached the log.

It's a DVD I made by adding new audio to m2v files and muxing with Muxman.

Also I have a second question, when SPLIP says YES isn't this supposed to me seamless layer break (without a pause)?, it still pauses, if I tick 'seamless' is that OK?, I've read that only some DVD players can handle it when seamless has been ticked?

Here's the log of the failed dual layer burn, any help appreciated.

    Thanks
