  1. I just want to make sure I save everything that is currently located on that hard disk. I am a bit afraid about images. What if they end up corrupted ? Wouldn't the whole image be corrupted like a .rar file would ?
  2. Maybe, I would have to find out how these backup tools work. I'm not sure their developers answer every question on a dedicated forum though
  3. Oh god, sorry I've must have been asleep, yes it's a 100GB blu-ray of course, not a cd.
  4. My OS isn't on the same disk as the my documents folder.

  6. Good morning. I 'm trying to save a copy of my hard disk on cd. This hard disk contains the "my documents" "my pictures" etc directories (I'm using windows7). When I calculate the size in imgburn, I get about a hundred modified file and folder names in the log. I don't like it very much, but what can I do ? But one thing I don't understand is that I also have "Skipped Reparse Point Folder" entries. I don't understand what these mean.
  7. Can imgburn display the full volume label somewhere once the disc is written?
  8. Indeed, I just tried 4x (6x was what I was using when it failed, I mean more precisely I had the "AWS"option turned on but the speed was around 6x). Now with 4 x it worked and verified well. It took a little bit longer, 2 hours and a half including verification instead of two, but it worked. Could it be also that I'm not buying goods discs ? Or that my pionneer writer isn't that good ? I was wondering if the fact that when it failed I was using chrome with many tabs opened had any effect. I wasn't using Chrome during the last try. Is it like back in 1998 when I was burning cds and was told to close any other program not to interfere with the writing process ? Sorry for the many questions, I'm a total newbie to this as I skipped the whole dvd period. I'm going straight from the 800mb cd to the 100gb blu-ray Here is the log of the last try, the one that worked : I 19:02:48 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! 9. Hi, It seems it failed at 33GB, considering it's a three layer 100gb disc, maybe it failed while shifting to the second layer, but it's weird because I filled a disk (same disc model) with 89 gb yesterday and it went fine. Any idea what could be happening ? Here is the log I got : (I deleted the name of my folder because it's private) I 17:42:47 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! 10. I don't understand what the "preserve full pathnames" setting means. And I couldn't find any explanation anywhere.
  11. Sorry, I deleted the files, they were not important ones, I don't have any warning anymore. yet still I wonder : Should I check or uncheck the "preserve full pathnames" box ?
  12. Good evening ! I'd like to save a huge hard-disk located data folder that has many files, on a 100gb blu-ray disk. Files have sometimes a very long path, files and folders have long names, file names and folder names are in English, French (with accents) and Russian (with Cyrillic letters) It has to be readable from a computer, but I don't want to change pathnames nor files names. I need to have a perfect copy of my folder. I have chosen UDF 2.50 in the option tab I have "include hidden files", "include system files ", and "preserve full pathnames" checked. Yet I'm still getting some warnings after browsing for my folder and calculating image file size : "UDF File System: 16 folder/file names have been modified due to your current settings." Any help would be greatly appreciated. PS : I'm using windows 7 (64), and Imgburn version 2.5.8.0
