  1. Just to update, it appears the disks were the problem. I'm 3 disks into the new batch and no write errors at all. Thanks for your help.
  2. Fair point. That primarily is why I went for a 10 pack rather than 25 so as to minimise cost should that not be the issue. And I've tried everything else I could think of without getting new disks in for now. Still, nothing I can do about it for the next 36 hours. One question I do have though - if a disk is writing, and I start up a game on the same computer (which will have a pretty hefty demand for hard disk access), could I end up stopping ImgBurn from getting the resources it needs to run and cause a write failure? That's not the case here, but if my PC is essentially unusable while writing it's worth knowing so I can plan around it.
  3. Thanks for the help, I've ordered them in. Just missed the window for prime delivery so we'll find out on Wednesday whether they work.
  4. Thanks for the response. I imagine the MID is only visible after you buy the set and put one into your drive, though how exactly would I check that when I have the disk just to make sure? As for printing, unfortunately I recently replaced my printer and so no longer have the ability to print directly onto the disk, so I'm not too bothered whether I get printable ones for this job. Anyway, I guess I'll just go for that 10 pack I found and hope for the best if it looks like the right stuff.
  5. Thanks for the advice. I'll keep looking though the only DataLifePlus I can find on amazon UK have a 1 star review reporting 10/15 write failures (or cost £75 for 25 disks, which is far too much), so might stay away from those in particular for now. I'm afraid I'm not an expert so most verbatim products look about the same to me, but would you say these ones are the same as the ones you use? They're about the top ones I can find that aren't specifically listed as "DataLife". As for my drive - I'll be looking for a better one when I build a PC later on this year, but until then I don't see much point in replacing a drive in a device which is about to be replaced anyway.
  6. Thanks for the advice. I did suspect the disks but didn't want to waste money away on buying others if it wasn't that or they turned out to be terrible too. Afraid replacing the drive is out of the question as I'm running on a laptop and don't want to go poking around, however plan to build a new computer soon so will upgrade then. I'm not having much luck finding datalife plus disks for a reasonable price, so are there any other disks you'd recommend for relatively cheap? Are there any particular brands to stick to or stay away from? For example I came across these ones which I think I've used before but with some success but if they'd be equally unreliable (and I just got lucky in the past) then I'll give them a miss.
  7. I'm having an intermittent issue in which my disks fail to write because "Invalid Address to Write", and I have no idea what is causing it and how to fix it. It will usually occur towards the beginning of a burn however has happened over halfway through before. My drive is TSSTcorp BDDVDW SN-506BB SB00 and I'm using Verbatim 43804 disks. I'll post the log at the bottom of this post. I know it isn't the files themselves causing some kind of issue, as I've had both success and failure from identical files laid out identically; I know it's not a dirty drive or lens as I have cleaned both and the issue still persists; and I'm pretty sure it's not disk usage being maxed out interfering (or similar) as the issue continues with no other programs running, only background processes. I also know it's not the write speed mismatch in the log as setting it to 2x doesn't seem to change anything, and I've had disks write successfully at 4x. Running windows in safe mode also seems to make no difference. Log: I 21:14:41 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started!
