Thanks but I know about the issues with CMC. I just wanted to use the last of them I had. I bought Taiyo Yuden discs, I heard they were good.

Previously, I had only let it go on without writing for about two hours. This time, I left it on overnight and eventually at some point it started back up again and finished. I switched outlets just in case though. I'm pretty sure it's because my disc drive is in a weird setup using a seperate power cable and a usb cable. I'm using a PC reader/writer on a laptop due to those cables. It's started to work again, so the solution is probably just giving it some time to rest.

I tried completely different files. Thing is, it was working fine before. What gives?
