  1. What is the reasoning behind IMGBurn defaulting to 8x audio read speed? Is it common for drives to fail to read audio data properly at speeds faster than 8x? Is there a way to find out if my drive is 'good enough' to read faster than this? I have a Toshiba SD-M1712 and a Samsung SH-S203B if anyone knows for these drives specifically. Thanks for this wonderful software. Mills
  2. Shesh, who knew the freaking Matrix drivers were so critical. I've been using an ICH southbridge for many generations and never installed them. It will allow me to set the booktype now but it claims it cannot show the current setting. I'm not sure if it was like this before or not. (Current setting says: "Unknown (No way to query current setting!) ). I assume this is just a limitation of the drive? I don't have anything to write at the moment so hopefully that worked, thanks again for the help and this wonderful software. If I get impatient with my drive I'll check out that modded firmware . MLS
  3. I get this: With "Run as Administrator" and my Limited account both. Blank disc is in drive, worked fine in XP. Specs: Windows 7 Professional Samsung SH-S203B on ICH9R Imgburn 2.5.0.0 Interface: SPTI Media: Verbatim MCC-004-00 Thanks, MLS
  4. Wow, that actually fixed it. I was extremely skeptical. Thanks for the assistance, MLS
  5. It's not a hard lock, the system is still 'usable' in that I can click on things and use the keyboard; but I cannot shut down, restart, log into another user, or kill the IMGBurn process. Guess a more apt word would be hang instead of lock. I will edit for clarity. Also, I can cycle the tray, it is not locked; but this does not change the state of the program, even if I remove the disc and close the tray. Yes, I have the INF update installed. I do not use Matrix Storage so I don't have MSM installed. MLS
  6. OS: WinXP SP3 Interface: SPTI Drive: Samsung SH-S203B on Intel ICH9R (AHCI) Media tested: Ritek 52x CD-R Version: 2.5.0.0 Steps to reproduce: 1. Place blank CD in drive. 2. Open IMGBurn. 3. Select drive in Read Mode. 4. Wait for stall at Initializing disc. 5. Hard reset comp Thanks for this great software. MLS
  7. Bin/Cue supports multiple tracks. Perhaps I'll just stick to DJ for 1:1 copying of CDs since it supports multi-track/session, index/gap scanning, etc. Be nice to see it in Imgburn but I assume its more trouble than its worth for a free application. Again the multiple track issue. But I think I saw Light post something like this was really low priority, so I suppose I'll settle for two burning applications for now. /MLS
  8. 1. Read/Build to bin/cue for CDs. 2. Write from cue+bin/wav . 3. Profile support for certain setting groups, perhaps a dropdown at the bottom of the log window? I'm no UI expert but that sounds good to me. Otherwise I must say this application sure has come a long way. I tried it back in 1.x or something but couldn't justify using it over DVD Decrypter (wasn't doing DL stuff yet). I gave it another shot randomly, and was delighted to see all kinds of great features added since I last tried it. I'm truly impressed, expect to see me on the donor list soon. Thanks for all your hard work Light. /MLS
