  1. Thanks for that info Cynthia, much appreciated. After trying numerous programs, none of which I liked, I ended up using DVD FLICK, which also uses IMGBURN to do that actual burning process. Have done one movie, and while I haven't watched it, I did turn it on to make sure it had sound and chapter points. Was extremely easy to use and came out pretty good... so if anyone comes across my post in their own search, I highly recommend using this program
  2. Hi all.. thanks in advance for anyones help. I have burnt a movie, which froze towards the end of watching it... and it doesn't have skip scene functions so I have to sit through 2 hours of it again to try and watch it, and hope it doesn't freeze up again! Is there any way in ImgBurn I can create 'sections/scenes' so that I am able to skip through parts of the movie? I did read that I should be able to create an ISO with ImgBurn then open that in DVD Shrink, but it wouldn't open it. I tried mounting it and that made no difference (and no, I do not have any idea what I am doing, lol). I know I can normally break them up on Shrink but I've only ever done it for things I've already had on disc, but it won't work of a DVD-RW disc it seems. This is a different form of media, not off another disc, so I am really at a loss on how to turn it into sections/scenes? Any help would be much appreciated (whether it can be done in ImgBurn or if there is another program that will help me). THanks!
  3. Thankyou for your reply spinningwheel, I just wasn't sure if it were something I was doing during the burning process, or solely an issue with the DVD recorder/player. I am assuming from your post that I should just be able to record the same as I would on a DVD-R. There was nothing useful on that site, but I will attempt to bug the support section there. Although I can already assume they will palm me off because I am trying to play something not recorded on the recorder itself.
  4. Hi all, and thankyou in advance for any help/support/suggestions I have been using imgburn ever since it came about and have never had a problem with it, although I have only ever used it for writing to DVD-R discs. Well, I bought a DVD recorder/player last week ( a Panasonic DMR-ES15) so am trying to use DVD-RW discs so I can burn a movie to watch... then wipe it and reuse the disc for something else. Anyway.... I have burnt the movie as per usual, just as I would with a regular disc... but when I put it into the DVD player it asks me to format the disc. So, it erases what's on it and formats it. So, I have burnt again, it once again tells me to format it. After formatting and putting it back into the laptop, ImgBurn will actually show the 'status' as 'Incomplete'. Then I have to erase the disc to burn on it again. I have read that it automatically finalises the discs when burning them, so obviously that shouldn't be the problem. I have no doubt it's not the software but something I'm merely missing or doing incorrectly?!? So, what steps do I have to take, to be able to write my downloaded movies (after I use ImgBurn to 'build' them), and get them to play on my DVD recorder/player. The recorder itself is playing movies I have burnt onto DVD-R just fine, just not my DVD-RW that I am taking exactly the same steps to burn Once again... thankyou for anyones help! And I apologise if I have left some obvious needed info out, I am not very knowledgeable at this type of thing at all.
  5. I read the guides... although it only says for 'build' mode about using the TS Video folder. I was using build mode to actually create the image file, so I do need that process. I am not creating an image file from DVD, I have a downloaded avi file that I wanted to burn. WHen I use the build mode to create an iso file, when I burn it it turns it into a video clip, which must be why it will play in windows media and not WinDVD. Am I able to use just this one program to create and burn from an avi file... or do I have to continue using another program to encode it so I am able to then burn it with ImgBurn (which I havent had any problems with doing it this way... its just ImgBurn doesnt seem to work with downloaded movies). I cant give you the log as I had already closed it, and after wasting 6 DVDs already (which are very expensive in our country) I am not going to bother doing it again unless I think I have a chance of it working, lol. Thanks heaps, I appreciate the help.
  6. Ive just stepped up from DVD decrypter to this software. I was trying to create an image file and burn a movie I have downloaded. I used the build feature, which put an ISO & MDS file on my desktop. I burned the image file, and it will open and play in windows media player, but will not play in my DVD player or even Intervideo WinDVD. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong and why it will not work... im not all that literate with the software, or burning for that matter... so please explain to me in english THankyou so very much for your time and help
