The last time I flashed it (1.03 to 1.05), it didn't stick but went flawlessly from what I could tell. What is MCSE? Maybe this would help me? I tried going back to 1.03, then again to 1.05 but had no luck with either. Is there perhaps some type of drive diagnostic tool that I could download somewhere? I'm really desperate as I'm sure you can tell because it's doubtful I can get my money back for this drive.

Ugh, I'm afraid you may be right. I just tried opening an already burnt DL movie in explorer and windows media player and no luck with either of those. It still reads DVD+R single layers and writes them fine too, however. I find that fact odd. Do you really think it's time to get a new one or is there a way to salvage my less than 6 month old burner?

Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present) is what eventually appears on the bottom left corner of the screen (after logical unit tries to become ready) when I insert Verbatim DVD+R DL discs (MKM-001-00). Update the firmware on the samsung drive and perhaps it'll fix the issue. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1676 You should be on F509. Thanks a bunch for your help and the link, It provided me with the dell version driver that I needed. ImgBurn works great now! This program blows any retail program out of the water IMO, 1/1 DVD+R DL's burned so far, which is far better than I can say about the $50 coaster software that I bought previously. But ImgBurn took that awful taste right out of my mouth

Imgburn get's hung up while loading when it tries to communicate with the drives. I followed the FAQ and installed the debug reg key but I need help in diagnosing the problem.
