  1. if you don't have cue file you can make a new cue file 5) how to make it? use CUEMAKER (google it) OR make it yourself with notepad and put .cue extension 6) example of cue file: (its really short) This works if cue and bin are in same folder FILE "name of file.bin" BINARY TRACK 01 MODE1/2352 INDEX 01 00:00:00 OR FILE "c:full path of filename of file.bin" BINARY TRACK 01 MODE1/2352 INDEX 01 00:00:00 7) SO now what you have cue and bin....now burn em on NERO or your favorite burner app. http://www.mafia-designs.com/cuemaker.htm CueMaker - A very simple utility used to make burning bin/cue images extremely easy. Simply type in the name of the bin file and it exports the necessary cue to burn the image. Download CueMaker vs. ? http://www.dslreports.com/r0/download/3737...f07/MakeCue.zip Or google for Cuemaker if the post has moved. It also FREE. Hope it helps you. demaX
  2. One doesn't need a Cue file to burn. I always just burned anyways and had no problem. As far as burning music. I've burned mp3's to CD which also were playable on a home and car stereo. That was 6 years ago, so I can't remember how I did it. You may want to search googles if someone else did the same. Now I just use a spare "portable hard drive" to hold the music cause it's nuts for me to carry a suitcase full of CD's. BTW I was ecstatic when I burned mp3's to a CD. So I know it can be done. demaX
  3. This may help you: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=5550 (PS: The original XP Cd already has a bootfile. Slip streaming or adding additional files to the present XP CD will not delete or make the CD none bootable. You probably used a slipstream program or added the files using a program such as UltraIso. And then you made a new Image to burn. When you open the image with UltraISO you should see the bootfile, and if not, try extracting the bootfile with same program. If it won't extract your missing the file. To get a boot file put in your original CD and extract it from there. Then Add the file to the new image. Then burn. demaX
  4. @ sdcougar May I suggest you simply add a boot.bin or boot.bif to the image. Then when you burn using Image Burn, you'll have a Bootable CD. You can create a Bootable image with UltraISO. You can "Make", "Write", "extract a Boot.bin from any Bootable CD", "You can both Make or write a Floppy Image", "You can Load a Boot File" <<< your looking for this., or "You can Save a Boot file". "You also clear boot information", and make "Multi-boot DVD's and CD's" Personally I found it most simple just to extract the boot file from a bootable CD. (such as a WinXP Disc) Save the file for future use, and then just add to any CD you want to make bootable. A word of advice. Don't use a Nero boot file, unless you want to burn with Nero. The extension and contents differ, due to copywrite issues I presume. (it uses Dr. DOS) A boot file will be 2K (2048 bytes). demaX
  5. Thank you LIGHTNING UK! for the response, your most kind. Yes, I do realize that test mode doesn't actually write anything on the disc. I just care to wait until I have something reasonable to burn before trying the CDR route again. Perhaps that pop-up warning is standard and I'll just click OK and burn anyways -- see what happens in the future. I love the small footprint this program has; I won't ignore it. Thanks. demaX
  6. Think I'm going insane. I just posted and it disappeared. Thanks for the response. I used "Test Mode" and it was successful. When I have another Image to burn I'll try "Write" and "Verify" see what happens in the future. Sorry about the log, I've only used this program 3 times plus "Test" mode. (Since the Test was successful I didn't attach the complete log) Thank You ! demax ================== DVDRW IDE1008 0159 (ATA) Current Profile: CD-R Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 359,847 Free Space: 736,966,656 bytes Free Time: 79:59:72 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 8x, 16x, 24x, 32x, 40x ATIP Information: Start Time of LeadIn (MID): 97m15s17f Last Possible Start Time of LeadOut: 79m59s74f ==================================== Log: I 12:02:17 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! 7. ImgBurn burns a DVD-R and DVD+R but when I try to burn an .iso on a normal CDR I get a notice saying there's not enough room on the disc (do you want to burn anyway ?) I tried various CD brands 700 MB capacity, always the same. And the files in the .iso are only 540 MB Does ImageBurn support burning regular CD's ??? When I open Nero is shows also that the disc capacity is 700+ MB and the files are only 540 MB. What am I doing wrong ? demaX
