I just installed a new LG BD burner, latest fw, and when I burned my first dvd , 6X selected, I got a warning in the log that there was a speed mismatch, got 16.5X!. I 16:21:40 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: MCC-004-00) (Speeds: 8x, 12x, 16x) The 'write speed miscompare' line is a result of a simple query to the drive to get the current write speed from it. If it's not the same as the one you selected, a warning is issued. It's only as reliable as the drive is at reporting the configured speed.
