mmalves
And what's the problem with that? The slowest speed doesn't necessarily result in a better quality burn, especially on new burners like the 7240S. Post the log of the most recent dual-layer burn you've made (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
LIGHTNING UK!
Why's this in 'Chat' ?! Moved to 'ImgBurn Support'.

LIGHTNING UK!
Then you have a general communication (drive -> controller on the motherboard) problem and it's nothing to do with write speeds. You can access the previous logs via the 'Help' menu.

LIGHTNING UK!
I doubt this error is specific to DVD+R DL, burn a rewritable or some a DVD-R when 'Test Mode' is enabled until you get the problem sorted.
xnusense
what about which sata port i use is there a certain one it should be in
LIGHTNING UK!
That depends, do you have 2 SATA controllers on your board? Sometimes the main chipset will only run 2/4/6 of them and the additional ones (i.e. making 4/6/8) will be on another 3rd party controller. What do you see listed in device manager under the scsi controllers and ide/ata controller branches?
xnusense
IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers NVIDIA Nforce4 Parallel ATA Controller NVIDIA Nforce4 Serial ATA Controller NVIDIA Nforce4 Serial ATA Controller cant find scsi controllers
LIGHTNING UK!
It would be 'Storage Controllers' now in Vista+ if that makes any difference?

LIGHTNING UK!
Ok so you don't have any 3rd party controllers on your board then. The latest drivers for the nforce4 chipset are these - http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_winxp_15.23.html If you've already loaded them on then there's nothing more you can do. LIGHTNING UK!
No, they're all the same. That said, you'd normally put the hdd on sata0 though and the optical drive on sata1 or something. Of course if you don't have any sata hdd's then that doesn't apply.
