By default ImgBurn book type +R media on Lite-On drives. So you shouldn't have to do anything.

The latest firmware is here. Not sure it's this one you are searching for.

Post a log from a +R burn so we can see if the book type function works as it should.

Wow, Thanks. sucha fast reply :-D

thanks for the drivers, i will see if they work ect.

by the way. i guessed that dvd-r would be the book type default. but iv'e been wanting to change it to Dual Layer R Mode.

Just edited my reply message,

OMG the drivers won't work. it's crying @ the fact i need PLDS Version. Yet my drive is still DH16A6S. :(

When you burn a +R disc it will be book typed as DVD-ROM (if everything works as it should)

If it has been burned and not book typed to DVD-ROM there is no way you can read it as a DVD-ROM.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Read the disc in ImgBurn or some other device?

If you decide to burn a disc and verify it and then look in the log, you know that it worked if you see a row like this one and the book type is set to DVD-ROM.

Ohh I See..

I Mean wow, you have been so helpful. other forums fail :-( full of sarcastic people that are no help what so ever.

soo when i burn for example "God Planet" and it requires Dual Layer Burning and i set the custom layer break ect.

when i burn it, it should end up being a dvd-dl-rom?

and it will be automaticly picked up and should know what to do with the .dvd and set the book type for me?

Yes. When you burn by picking the .dvd file you should see these two rows that will show up when you burn with a Lite-On. That means that you will end up with a DVD-ROM book typed disc. :)
