Trying to Burn Linux Debian ISO Files to disk

Recommended Posts

Suggestion.

Try a Linux Debian forum. They should know exactly how you set up a new computer with that distribution. Could be that the files you try to burn is the pure update files for an existing installation. There should be no need to mess around with adding boot stuff to already created iso files distributed in a package.

The latest Linux I installed was Mandriva Linux Free and that one was just very easy to install even for me that never done a Linux installation before.

I finally got it to burn right. But sadly it wasn't with your program. Infrarecorder what I used and it worked the first time. Thanks for the help and Please head back to the drawing board.

lol not from that same image file it didn't, the thing isn't bootable.

Oh and btw, I didn't notice it before just now, but in your 2nd post you provided the following link:

That ISO image is meant for alpha machines, not your typical i386 PC.

Had you have downloaded the correct thing in the first place, namely:

http://ftp.acc.umu.se/debian-cd/5.0.4/i386/iso-cd/debian-504-i386-CD-1.iso

...it would have worked straight off.
