VM Ware ISO

I'm trying to figure out how to create an iso of my hard drive so that VMWARE can use it. However I don't know what settings to use. The first thing I run into is that the structure of the HD is too many levels deep.

Help

Well technically (I think!) you could also tell vmware to use a pre-existing image (like how you can make it use a physical hdd instead of a file on a hdd)... and that's what this person is trying to do (or so it would seem).

Of course the hardware between the host OS and VM would be totally different but I guess Windows would sort itself out eventually.

If what you're trying to do is more along the lines of what eskro said, you probably shouldn't be using VMware anyway. I wouldn't say it's typically a tool used by non technical people.
