I'm looking for the best media for my drives. I currently use TDK dvd+r (disc id Ritek-F16-01) which i know, i know, isn't ideal. SOOOOO.... What is ideal? There seems to be good prices on Verbatim dvd+r (actaully less expensive than the TDK ones i bought) So that puzzles me a bit cuz my brain tells me more $$ = better quality. but perhaps i'm wrong. What's the difference between dvd+r and - r?? is there any preference? When i buy online, are there any ways to tell where the discs are made? From my reading it seems that certain countries make better disks, even of the same brand? From more reading, verbatim really does get good reviews, and you guys always mention them and Taiyo Yuden ( but i dont know where to find those). Can someone plese shed some light on this for me? The reason I didn't answer you was that my crystal ball is shipped away for service and I have therefore no clue what brand/model of drive that you have. Also, it may help to note in which make of player (stand alone, etc.) you intend to play the burned discs. While in an ideal world these silly things would work as the standards say they should, in the real world some players have shown a preference for either + media or - media.
