rtfalk Posted May 2, 2010 Share Posted May 2, 2010 Hi, I've used imgburn like programs in the past and yesterday I downloaded it again to burn an .iso to a dvd-r, and everytime (I've tried like 6) I try to burn it, my computer completely locks up about 10 seconds into writing the leadin. I dont have a log because my computer freezes and I cant do anything at all except a hard shutdown and ive checked to make sure I have the newest firmware for the drive which is and LG GH24N50S I believe, I'm also using memorex DVD-r's not sure if theyre good media or not..Ive also tried a few other programs, Nero and one or 2 other free ones and they all freeze at the same point. LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 2, 2010 Share Posted May 2, 2010 Keep your web browser open at a stage where you can 'paste' something and reply to this thread. Then burn a disc and copy + paste everything from the log window when it gets stuck. Failing that, when you're in Write mode with one of those discs in the drive (an empty one!), copy + paste the disc information from the panel on the right. LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 2, 2010 Share Posted May 2, 2010 Well you could try changing the write speed to 4x or 8x but your best bet would be to buy some decent Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Do you have any DVD-RW or DVD+RW you could test with before doing that? (or just any disc so long as it's not using the 'RITEKF1' dye!) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
