First off thanks for this great piece of software and sharing it with everyone.

I have seen others with this problem, tho usually pertaining to bad media or burning PS3 games; of course i have not read all 100,000+ posts :/

Now, I have followed advice to use Verbatim DL, MKM-001-00, and my firmware is updated from firmware HQ, for my TSST Corp TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223F SB03(Samsung SH-S223F) drive. The problem is that other DL media will burn, just many of the burns turn out coasters, but the drive will not even use the good Verbatim DL, MKM-001-00 discs (and not just in this software, but other burning software as well.

i won't pretend to know a lot about media and dyes, but am i correct in thinking this drive is junk since it doesn't like good DVDs made with good dyes?

anyhow, here is a log:

Is there a specific reason for you having changed the I/O interface to Patin Couffin? Put it back on SPTI if possible.

no good reason... i am switching back to SPTI.

as for the non-new disc, yeah i must have tried re-using one from a failed attempt, in a rush to have a log to paste in here (my fault) tho i know i have gotten the same error with new discs from new packages.

hopefully the problem was my stupidity in changing theI/O interface.

thanks for the replies.

thanks again for the great software.

i will try to get back to you if this helps either way so may be we can close this :)

EDIT:

looks so far like i am able to at least start burning the disc without the error right off the bat. i don't remember changing the I/O interface... i did it mistaakenly i guess, since i know it got changed somehow.

thanks again for the help.

if the DL burns properly i will report back and get this closed out.

EDIT:

yeah, this now burned the DL properly. the I/O interface was the issue.

feel free to close this thread.
