Stays "Analysing Tracks" forever

Hi, I want to make an image from my commercial CD of a PS1 game so I can convert to DVD and play back on my modded PS2 like I have done with some other games.

My PC has been upgraded recently and I can't remember if I did this ever before since before now I probably used a downloaded image of a demo game or something.

Anyway I tried tonight and it gets stuck on "Analysing Tracks" on track 2 on my desktop machine in either my Samsung 223C or my OptiArc drives, at any speed setting. The OptiArc sits there stepping it's read head laser making noises and my Samsung just has the light in it and makes no noises that I can hear. On my Sony laptop VGN-CS21S with Matshita UJ-890A drive it makes the mouse pointer jerk and the laptop becomes quite unresponsive and slow and it does this when analysing the last track or something.

I did a search and there were some posts like this but I could not add a reply to them for some reason I don't understand.

Here's the log from my desktop machine ;-

I thought the latest version of ImgBurn was supposed to cure this problem?

PS. Hang on a sec., the commercial original CD did this, and so did a CD-R copy made ages ago, in the Samsung drive, and so did the same CD-R copy in the OptiArc, but I just tried the original commercial CD in my OptiArc and suddenly it worked. Weird.

Cheers,

Alistair G.
