Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

Hey! I recently purhased an external optical drive (slim portable dvd writer gp40) so that I could burn dvd-r/+r and play some of my old, damaged PS2 games, but I keep getting the error in the topic. I searched for it a few times and got no results. I even searched it word for word and got literally nothing. This is what I get when I try to burn to disc:

And it stops there each time.

Oh, hm... how do I deal with this? Not very good with computers. I wasn't doing much besides using Youtube at the time. Actually, my computer was turned on only minutes before I started burning.

Just saw the title of the thread.

Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

That indicates that there is a reading error. You could try with a better quality media, like Verbatim AZO.

Thank you for the replies. I searched all over for that brand, but nobody seems to have them. Are there any standard brands that people generally use for this sort of thing?

The crc error pops up in a separate imgburner window that I have to close before I can click on any other IB window. I close it and it comes back up a few seconds later. And sorry, I don't have any screens. I'm out of discs and the burning stopped at 64% every single time, so I get a "disc isn't empty" error.

Your computer has problems reading the source file. Something is not ok with your hard disk.
