prino
W7 is supposed to handle DVD-RAM media without problems... Well, it isn't here, with write speeds going down to < 170kb/sec, which isn't very useful for files > 1Gb! So I tried ImgBurn, which does write at more of an expected speed of 3.2 Mb/sec (~2.4x for 5x media) However, it creates disks that are strictly Read-Only, no matter what options I try to use, and no matter what I try in W7, files cannot be deleted, unless I reformat the whole disk, which isn't really very useful if you use a format that's supposed to be just a huge floppy. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or is this by any chance a known limitation of ImgBurn? My latest log file is attached. LIGHTNING UK!
ImgBurn treats DVD-RAM no differently to any normal disc. If you want to use it as a giant floppy disc then you'll have to use the OS to handle that sort of thing (and put up with the speed).
