Cannot Change booktype Reason: I/O Error

Alright, for the past few days, I've been trying to change the book type of a DVD+R, but everytime I do it, imgBurn tells me that it can't because of an I/O Device error. I'm using a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633J TF03 inside my laptop as my burner. I've included an image of what my screen looks like when I try. Any suggestions? Thanks in advanced.

My noob is showing. :/  I did just as you asked; I'd never disobey an admin, honest. ;) The prompt stated that there was no family tree data for my drive. Is that suppose to happen? Here's some pics for proof:
