I'm pretty new to this but after looking through some threads here I see to stay away from verbatim/cmc. I saw an older thread recommending japanese made brands like panasonic but the thing is that all of these threads are pretty old and the information might not be accurate anymore since it seems every few years brands get worse or change manufacturers, so could someone here please recommend me what the best 50 gb bd-re brand currently is. I have no problem buying overpriced ones from japan if those are non cmc and more reliable than other manufacturers. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
dbminter Posted January 31, 2021 Share Posted January 31, 2021 I haven't bought any in years, but the best ones back when I was buying them were Verbatim that were sold from Japan. However, they seem to have a fairly high rate of failure over a short period of time, e.g. like a year. But, at least, they weren't CMC. TDK also used to make a pretty good BD-RE 50 near as I remember. But, I'm pretty sure those were in Japanese packaging, too. All of these I found on Amazon.com.
