ImgBurn stuck at Writing LeadIn or Power Calibration Area Error

Cylinder No.3

Recommended Posts

I have tried multiple times to burn Xbox 360 games on to my Double-Layer discs but to no avail. It's either stuck at Writing LeadIn or Power Calibration Area (Retry nr.# of 30). I even use Verbatim DVD+R DL 8x discs and tried to run it on Safe Mode. I personally think that my problem is with my laptop's drive, because I also hear weird and almost like clicking, scrapping or hitting noises coming from it when you first insert a disc or when it's attempting to burn. I haven't attempted yet to burn another type of disc to see if the problem isn't just with double layer DVDs yet. How can I solve my issue?

  • Cylinder No.3 changed the title to ImgBurn stuck at Writing LeadIn or Power Calibration Area Error

It's going back a good few years now, but only real LiteOn iHAS drives were capable of burning them nicely - and only really on the MKM-003-00 discs.

The Vinpower Digital 'plus' drives have been designed (firmware modified appropriately) to support it. You'd have to get one of those and put it in a suitable USB enclosure.
