Mpftmead Posted August 14, 2008 Share Posted August 14, 2008 I've been using Decrypter for years and recently switched to ImgBurn It's got lot of neat features! But that really has nothing to do with this as the problem started before I upgraded...it sometimes takes 2-3 hours to burn a DVD now and It never used to. Right now i'm at a 0.7x speed which is about as high as it gets, the buffer is always 100% while the device buffer goes through the same process of 6%-31%-%56%-81% really quickly over and over again. It never used to do this. I tried using Nero's stuff for checking the drive quality and all I got were errors and It would never complete. I'm wondering if it is the new Maxell 16X DVD+R's I just got a "bargin" on... Can anyone help?! Thank you for your time, -Mike P.S. I know it says "Drive D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size." But all of my stuff is on the C: partition which is NTFS The D: Is just recovery... kevdriver Posted August 15, 2008 Share Posted August 15, 2008 Mead, Welcome to the forum. First off check your DMA and ensure your drive hasn't gone back to PIO. Secondly check for updates for your drive and then switch to Verbatim brand of blank discs DVD-R. Check the FAQ for how to check DMA if you don't know how. I 19:05:49 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00) (Speeds: 4x, 8x, 12x, 16x) and then change to decent media. anything with CMC as the disc ID is poor quality stuff im afraid , hence the recommendations in here to switch to taiyo yuden's ect ect Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
