L0 Data Zone Capacity Failure When Wanting to Burn

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm having problems when wanting to burn with ImgBurn. Shortly after initiating the burning process I get an errorscreen which says:

Failed to set L0 Data Zone Capacity!

Reason: Invalid Field in Parameter List

Below is a log from the burn.

I 17:28:42 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!

I 17:28:42 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2)

I 17:28:42 Total Physical Memory: 2

It should be fine.

Why aren't you burning it to a normal DVD-R or DVD+R disc?

It's not big enough to require a DL one.

Only have DL discs at home atm. ;P

And it's just a matter of time till I'm gonna burn something requiring the size of a DL one and I don't want to get this fault then.

Why do I get this weird error? :/ I've updated my firmware and even that didn't fix it.

Please do me a favour, put that same disc back in the drive (in Write mode) and copy + paste all the disc info text from the panel on the right.

I hope I understood this correctly. ;P

Here goes:

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B A106 (ATA)

Current Profile: DVD+R DL

Disc Information:

Status: Complete

Erasable: No

Sessions: 1

Sectors: 2

Do you also have a disc that's writable?

As mmalves picked out, the size was all wrong for that DL disc in the log you posted but ImgBurn still let you try and burn to it - meaning it thought it was still empty.

That's the one I'm interested in seeing the disc info for if you're able to reproduce the situation!

Sorry, was the wrong CD I noticed now ;P Got 3 of the useless ones piled up so I picked the wrong one ;P Should be good now though.

I'm positive this is the first disc I tried which I couldn't burn on.

Here goes for the second time (!):

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B A106 (ATA)

Current Profile: DVD+R DL

W 02:56:35 User specified layer break position is such that L0

W 02:56:35 Image Size: 4 155 840

W 02:56:35 User Specified L0 Sectors: 1 913 760

W 02:56:35 Calculated L1 Sectors: 2 242 080

You've (they've) got the wrong LB position selected in the settings. Put it back on 'Automatic' and leave it! :)

It won't work at the end, the content simply isn't there!

Well, you know, whatever was in the last 300,000 or so sectors isn't there.

Tell your friend that it still should be left on 'Automatic'. The .DVD and .MDS files take care of layer break positions.

Tools -> Settings -> Write -> Layer Break (For DL Media) -> Calculate Optimal.

Thanks!

I tried burning a DL-disc with my computer now and I had no errors during the burn. But now, when I try to use the disc I get errors and it cannot be loaded.

Any ideas?

Did you verify as part of the burn?

If not, you should probably check the 'Verify' box so that it does.

When you've done that, please post a log - obviously the first thing we need to check is that the PC can read it.

Yep, I've verified on all the burns as the box has been checked everytime before initiating it.

I cba censoring the log this time, perhaps it helps you more in case you know what has been burned.

The log from the completed burn is below:

I 15:15:47 Operation Started!

I 15:15:47 Source File: E:\Complete\Super_Smash_Bros_Brawl_PAL_Wii-WiiERD\wiierd-ssbb.iso

I 15:15:47 Source File Sectors: 4

It could be that you're burning at 4x, yes.

So long as it burns and verifies ok it means the disc at least readable in the drive that wrote it - that's a good start!

I expect the Wii is picky about its media (and the quality of the burn).... after all, it was never really designed to read anything except original 'pressed' Wii games.
