What is the latest NEC model?

Well, looks like I've burned through another NEC drive with years of abuse and overuse :) and given my propensity to break drives, it seems, I appear to need a replacement for my NEC. It's no longer finalizing Verbatim DVD+R DL discs that it used to finalize.

So, I ask, what is the latest model of NEC that is out there for me to search for?

Thanks!

72XX's are the latest and they are pretty good, although I haven't researched the newest 7220's.

I take that back about the 7220 ~ http://club.cdfreaks.com/f86/optiarc-ad-72...66/#post2145407

I might snatch up another 7200 while I still can.

I went over the CDFreaks link and they're saying the 7220 is a Lite-On. By the talk I construed from the rest of the replies, that the 7200 is not a Lite-On drive. By that, I think I'll get the 7200. I had issues with an IOMega rebaded Lite On drive where the video played back on the PS 2 skipped.

I have a nefarious reputation for drives dying on me. Both for reasons unknown and through years of use. Sometimes, it's just I need to replace a drive because I discover some flaw in it. Like the IOMega I had that was a rebadged Lite On. Ever since I discovered that drive produced movie discs that skipped on playback in the Playstation 2, I replaced it and put Lite On on my shit list. :)

I think my last NEC last 2 or 3 years. A pretty good track record for me, actually.
