Strange device behaviour

Drive is only 3 yrs old maybe more? Nah it couldn't be that :rolleyes:

Seriously you seem to know what could be problems so you should test those theories. I know I just replaced 2 1yr. old Samsung SH-203b drives as they wouldn't burn my Memorex DVD+R DL media at 8x with 2 Samsung SH-223Q drives. The drives are so cheap today if you do a lot of burning be worth it to upgrade anyways

Both are right that it's time to buy a new one, so I'll have to read the reviews on cdfreaks or cdrinfo.

Yesterday, after a reboot, I just started ImgBurn (without other programs running on the background) and burnt a DVD+DL. This was the error:
