Try following the guidance given to you by mmalves about speeds and changing media without defending what you are doing now since it isn't working anymore. If the drive still can't burn DVD's in another machine, you can conclude that either: 1. It doesn't like CMC or Sony media. 2. The drive is faulty. So try it in another PC and see how you get on.
