Hi everyone.

I'm new to this forum. :D

I'm having a problem changing the booktype of my burner for a DVD +R DL disc. it's an LG GSA T50F..I keep getting an error when i try to change it to DVD ROM. Nevertheless I tried burning with the 'automatic option' enabled for samsung and LG burners and still, the resultant burned DL DVD wasnt burnt as DVD ROM.

I've searched evrywhere for firmware that would enable me to change it but cant find any..can anyone help me plzzz? ASAP?

THanks :)

Hi and welcome to the forum, scotty_buttons! :)

If you have the option 'Auto Change Book Type' enabled (default setting) in the write tab in the Settings, ImgBurn will book type +R DL media automatic for you.

Did you burn one of those discs and ended up with it not being book typed to DVD-ROM?

Cynthia, I did try burning with the automatic settings and it turned out to be a DVD+R DL burn..not DVD-ROM

LIGHTNING UK, While trying to change it manually, i select DVD+R DL Media and I get the error

Current Setting : Unknown (FAILED!)

Reason: Invalid Command Operation Code

I know it cannot be the media cuz I've burnt it as DVD ROM with my Samsung and Pioneer burners before. UNfortunately, those two are indefinitely down.

So you have the same issue as the other guy in this forum - 'Invalid Command Operation Code'... meaning either your drive doesn't support the book type commands or the drivers are blocking it.

Find out which controller the drive is attached to and then get the latest driver from the manufacturers website.

The tcdcmdpst looks odd, it should look something like this.

Filter Name: tdcmdpst

File Name: C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\tdcmdpst.sys

File Version: 2, 0, 0, 1 [2.0.0.1]

File Description: TOSHIBA ODD Writing Driver for x86.

Product Version: 2, 0, 0, 1 [2.0.0.1]

Company Name: TOSHIBA Corporation.

TOSHIBA Writing Engine Filter Driver

It seems it is from TOSHIBA Backup Utility and it might have been uninstalled before and the driver is not fully removed.

Delete the filter by using the Delete button in the Filter Driver Load Order function in ImgBurn and then restart the computer. The worst thing that can happen is that that other program (TOSHIBA Backup Utility) will probably stop working, but it should be possible to reinstall it again if you need it.

The burner will not crash (be destroyed) as it's only a software driver.
