Update ImgBurn too. Your drive doesn't support the 'RITEK-S04-66' MID/dye at all. The brand name stamped on discs doesn't mean anything - they all just use the same cheapo dyes. If you aren't using Verbatim discs then you probably aren't using the decent MKM-001-00 or MKM-003-00 MID/dyes.

I didn't expect it to. Posting the log is what helps us deal with the actual issue.
-
Post the entire log for that session please, not just 8 lines of it.
-
You can Google 'Duplex Secure's SPTD driver can have a detrimental effect on drive performance'. Please post the log - as per the pink box up the top
-
Build mode - 'write files/folders to disc'.
-
Post your filter driver info please - using the feature in the Tools menu. The program can see the drive fine, it's just not being allowed to use it - hence the 'Access is denied' message. The 'media pack' is nothing to do with ImgBurn. It doesn't use it or care if it's on the system.
-
It's a drive/firmware/media combo issue, yes. I have no way of knowing why exactly the format command failed, the drive's response was as vague as it could possibly be! (just saying it failed rather than why it failed) So assuming the disc status now says 'Complete' rather than 'Empty', you could just ignore it and hope for the best. Burn something and have ImgBurn verify it. If that all works ok, what's on the disc is fine. In an ideal world though, the format would go all the way through without erroring out like that.
-
Your drive reported an error ('Format Command Failed') during (at the end of) the erase process. You might have more luck with the Panasonic BD-RE DL discs ('MEI-T01-001' MID/dye) or some Verbatim ones ('VERBAT-IM1-000' MID/dye).

Verify Fails and shows like dvd play on xbox help
LIGHTNING UK! replied to DeltaAngel's topic in ImgBurn Support
You got the wrong format discs. You want DVD+R DL, not DVD-R DL. -
You can't. ImgBurn doesn't support multisession. Assuming you're using Windows XP or beyond, just get Windows/Explorer to burn your multisession data CD. That functionality is built right into the OS.
-
Can you play the content of the disc ok on your PC? Maybe it just can't read the disc very well.
-
Ah, it really needs to be a BD-RE you've 'just' burnt via Nero Vision. Don't worry if you don't have one.
-
Do you still have a disc like that handy? One where you've burnt with Nero I mean. If so, pop it in the drive and fire up ImgBurn. Switch to Read mode and copy + paste the all disc info from the box on the right please.
-
BD-RE only need to be formatted once when brand new. Some don't even need that (pre-formatted) - but then you might want to re-format them anyway to disable spare etc. After that, the discs are just overwritten. No 'erase' takes place. I always use the default settings. They're default for a reason

Internal Target Failure when finalising disc
LIGHTNING UK! replied to ch00se's topic in ImgBurn Support
Yes, your drive. The latest firmware dates back to November 2008 - so the drive itself must have been released some time before that. All DVD burners are about £15 - £25 now, they aren't the money they used to be The Optiarc 726x series seem to be pretty decent. -
Internal Target Failure when finalising disc

Well, it's probably 3 years old and there have been 3 newer versions since then Try the other supported write speeds. Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. If it's just started to happen at the same time as getting a new spindle of discs, maybe they're faulty? -
If the ISO file is bigger, yes of course you lose hdd space. Nero is probably just padding it out to that size - i.e. inserting lots of zeros somewhere. Out of interest, were you burning to BD-R or BD-RE? That could make a difference due to the nature of BD-RE (where the 'size' always looks like a full disc).
-
Yes, it's due to the drive automatically verifying as it writes. Format the disc without spare areas and it won't do that. ImgBurn defaults to formatting without spare areas so just do a 'full erase' on it. If you still have problems, post the erase and burn logs.
-
Are you on SP3 now? When you are, make sure the 'SPTI - Device Enumeration Method' option is set to 'Device Instance' on the I/O tab in the Settings. Post a new log when that's all done and if a burn still fails.
-
It may do, who knows. Your machine appears to be hanging during the burn so it's probably driver related. All ImgBurn does is send a command and wait for a response.
-
You can't erase (format) DVD+R DL discs. Once the data is on them, it stays on them. Your problem is covered here: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 p.s. Vista service pack 2 has been out for ages now.

'New Members' can't reply to topics that aren't their own. It stops thread hijacking which annoys the hell out of me. You've got that round the wrong way. The volume label field in the PVD (primary volume descriptor) has room for 32 bytes of data. So where single byte characters are used (ISO9660), that's 32 characters. Where double byte characters are used (Joliet), that's 16 characters.

Please attach the crash logs or just email them manually to the address in the program's 'About' box. Even a screenshot of the call stack would do - I think you have just to click the button to show the report and then switch to the right tab (this is on the 'crash' dialog of course).
-
Your drive might do a better job of burning the discs if you don't use 4x. Try the other supported write speeds.

ImgBurn doesn't (and won't ever) do any audio processing. It passes the file to DirectShow and it converts it to the required output format (where possible). ImgBurn then just burns its output.
