ImgBurn uses DirectShow for converting audio files to the correct format for burning to disc. ffdshow is a DirectShow filter. I prefer to use the filters listed in the Audio CD guide - so I'd probably click no.

Does it have a message in the status bar? (after switching to 'Write' mode or whatever) If the program is busy doing something, sometimes those fields may remain disabled. Again, a screenshot would help us see what you're seeing Just save the file as a PNG (or JPEG if that isn't an option) and upload it. Using BMP may make it larger than the forum will accept.

Ability to burn an IMAGE to the HARD DISK
LIGHTNING UK! replied to pokey999's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
lol if you take those 'chunks of bytes' and write them to a folder on the hdd, you end up with (a copy of) exactly what you started with - another image file. -
I'm afraid there's no straightforward answer/fix for this. Your drive is just messing up. You'll have to try burning at all of the the supported speeds (notice that 2.4x isn't one of them). Personally, I'd start with 4x. All laptop 'slim' drives are rubbish at burning (compared to 'normal' size ones). If MKM-003-00 doesn't work out for you, try buying some 2.4x rated Verbatims instead - MKM-001-00 dye. If that doesn't work you'll have to think about getting another drive - i.e. a normal size one in a USB enclosure or something.
-
Do you have the latest firmware installed for the player?
-
Whilst I'd love to be able to say I have a spare one, I would prefer to keep them as I'll use them for testing - sorry I'd say to hold fire on replying to the ebay seller if possible - just until I can report back which MID my Verbatim discs use. Are yours actually stamped with the Verbatim brand name anywhere or are they just plain white / unbranded ones?

Almost missed this one... happy birthday

Pioneer stopped making their own DVD drives after the 117/217 series, now they're rebranded QSI models and have a Mediatek chipset - same as the new LiteOn 'B' models. Unlike the LiteOn models though, I understand the Pioneer can't do disc quality scans in CDSpeed / Opti Drive Control / DVDInfoPro. The MyCE forums probably have some threads on the 219, take a look over there.

Cannot write medium - incompatible format
LIGHTNING UK! replied to kaenshine's topic in ImgBurn Support
The first error is the real/important one. Try the other supported write speeds (note that 8x wasn't one of them in the first place!) Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning discs. Try getting some Taiyo Yuden CDs. (Verbatim Pastel Discs will do - but not any other Verbatim ones because they'll be CMC too) -
More info on "unable to set layer break position"
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Gonzo's topic in ImgBurn Support
Make sure you 'Build' your images with ImgBurn. Don't burn an existing DL DVD Video image (ISO) unless it has been build for burning onto DVD-R DL with everything lined up nicely with the -R DL fixed layer break position. The fact you're seeing that message at all means that's probably not the case -
Ah I see. Must be a dll with no product/description/version information Thanks anyway!
-
It was the built in version's line like this that I was interested in... A copy + paste of the text from the log window is enough, no need to upload a file. (unless you did that for another reason of course?)
-
Wine/CrossOver config does have a 'drives' section though yeah? And assuming it does, you've made sure your optical drive is listed there as a cdrom type device? What does the original ASPI report itself as in the log file? As this appears to be a generic ASPI/SPTI issue with CrossOver, can't you go directly to them and ask for assistance/a fix?
-
FrogASPI is a simple wrapper for SPTI - i.e. a complete waste of time Delete it and see if anything is built in. ASPI works fine on Wine under Linux without installing anything - isn't CodeWeaver's Crossover basically the same thing?
-
So what happens if you just change the I/O interface to ASPI in the settings (on the I/O tab) ? Can you copy + paste the stuff from the log window once you've done that please.

Ability to burn an IMAGE to the HARD DISK
LIGHTNING UK! replied to pokey999's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
lol are seriously questioning me? I guess you haven't put 2 and 2 together and figured out I wrote the program. I know more about burning than you could ever hope to. Oh and of course it doesn't extract files when burning an image. You read a sector's worth of data (2048 bytes) from the image file and write those exact same 2048 bytes to sector 0 on the disc. Then you read the next 2048 bytes and write them to sector 1 etc etc. -
Yeah I thought it was bit pricey just getting 1 so I opted for the box of 5. I think it was like £55 in the end (after converting from euros) - including delivery.

Failed to send Cue Sheet - Invalid Field in Parameter List
LIGHTNING UK! replied to ThereIsNoCow's topic in ImgBurn Support
The OS would look at the first track in the last session. That's why CD Extra discs (Audio then Data) work the way they do. Windows explorer thinks it's a data disc rather than an Audio CD. By putting audio in the 2nd session you'll probably end up with a disc that Windows considers an Audio CD. Data and then Audio in the same session is how I remember my old CD based games. Oh and yes, 22 seconds should be fine. -
another I/O issue while burning DL media
LIGHTNING UK! replied to PatchOne's topic in ImgBurn Support
Log files - http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=14632 'RICOHJPN-D01-67' is NOT a typical Verbatim dye/MID. It should be MKM-001-00 (2.4x) or MKM-003-00 (8x). Buy the right stuff and you should be ok. -
Try cleaning the optiarc with a cleaning disc. You might find it likes burning that media at a faster speed more than it does on a slow one. So try 8x, 12x and 16x rather than just 4x.

Failed to send Cue Sheet - Invalid Field in Parameter List
LIGHTNING UK! replied to ThereIsNoCow's topic in ImgBurn Support
Have you only ever tried it with 'Test Mode' enabled? If so, try doing it for real. (i.e. disable 'Test Mode') I don't think you can ever do a 'Test Mode' burn on something with 2 (or more) sessions - because the 1st won't actually exist when it attempts to burn the 2nd! btw, when you have audio after data like that, it's not normally in another session. -
Dvd will not stop spinning after successful burn
LIGHTNING UK! replied to the_bishop's topic in ImgBurn Support
You selected 4x. Either the discs are some no names ones (crappy) or you are in PIO mode with that burner. Thank you Cynthia. I am burning with Taiyo Yuden (JVC). I read that they were one of the best Dvd-R. I'm not sure the JVC ones are as good as the original Taiyo Yuden ones but they should still be fine. As such, you have DMA issues. Follow the post in the FAQ that tells you how to fix them. -
'Normal' is normal So DVD+R stay as DVD+R and DVD+R DL stay as DVD+R DL. It's what the drive would default to after being powered up - hence my comment about powering down your PC. When Auto Change Book Type is enabled, it just send a little command to the drive to tell it to booktype to DVD-ROM rather than leaving it as 'Normal'. The drive doesn't appear to do anything upon receiving the command, it does it when finishing up at the end (closing the track or finalising the disc). For some reason your drive is failing to do it and it's leaving you with a useless disc. Just so you know, now auto change booktype has been disabled, you don't need to mess with the booktype stuff again. Your drive will always use 'Normal' (i.e. don't do anything to the booktype).

Are you sure the file size isn't correct? Try browsing the disc in IsoBuster.

Ability to burn an IMAGE to the HARD DISK
LIGHTNING UK! replied to pokey999's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
Do you even know what you're asking for?! You want the program to 'burn' an image to your hdd from an image that's already on your hdd? You do realise that makes NO sense at all yeah? If you want to be taken seriously, at least try and explain your suggestion properly and using the right terminology.
