Thanks for the tip. The first attempt was at 8x, the 2nd at 12x. I will check the drive, although the PC is very new.

I got it too.

After I went to bed last night I realised that this was almost certainly a PEBKAC issue. So it proved to be - I was hitting Enter after typing in the labels!

Exactly what the screenshots show - a "1" as the last character typed in screenshot 1 and and O in screenshot 2. I even tried just a single letter, but got the same results.

I tried searching for this before posting, so if it's a duplicate, I'm sorry. This evening I went to type in a label, and this was what I got: So I tried something shorter and got this: This is the first time I've had this problem, and as it was working fine yesterday, I'm at a loss to know what's going on. Any help will be much appreciated.

I was pointed to this forum by Cynthia, and see many familiar nyms. The posters here and at DV Forums are a very helpful bunch. Thanks to you all, I've been able to learn which DVD+R DLs are the best to use, and, once I've kicked my neuron into top gear, I should be able to grok the whole VOBBlanker thing for layer breaks. I am in your debt, good people.
