they can select what ever they want BUT it has to be a supported write speed by the firmware ,it does no good selecting 2x if the supported speeds are 4x and 6x the program will burn it at 4x the closest to the selected speed

I believe that LUK made it automatic for Samsung and LG's to change to DVD rom ,I'd start to suspect the drive but maybe put it in another box and see what happens

Polopony i can't close DVD Flick cause it has not yet finalized. I followed the instructions in the FAQ using process explorer to the letter, i found that "INcd" which is Nero's tool was holding it up. I uninstalled "INcd" when i tried to use DVD Flick again i got the same error. I was wondering could it be conflicting with Nero? According to the process explorer nothing else is using the drive.
not for nothing but we dont support anything but IMGburn ,you have me a little confused when you say you're trying to use Flick to burn and then you post a log of IMGburn ,cant you do what you want without flick by using IB's build mode
those Riteks are not very good we only recommend Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden discs

this is covered in the FAQS
to quote LUK
If the 'Reason' given is 'Access is denied' (or words to that effect)
Another program is currently using the drive. You need to find out what it is and shut it down!
The only way I know of finding out what else has a 'handle' open to the drive is by using Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com
Load it up and click 'Find' -> 'Find Handle...'
The type 'cdrom' and click 'search'
See if it comes up with any results
If it doesnt, try searching for the drive letter of that drive - i.e. 'F:'
If it finds something, click on it in the search window. The main window should then highlight the process / 'File' entry that contains the handle to the drive. You can right click -> close the handle if you like, or just close the entire application, it's up to you.
BTW Ritek discs arent all that good
Also did you close out DVD Flick it could still be open and trying to access the drive

speaking of Church moments my nephew was in church with his kids ,he has 7 boys and onr of the younger ones Dan (4)was doing his best to behave but the priest got a little long winded with the sermon and Dan couldn't take it anymore so as the priest droned on Dan let out a loud BLAH BLAH BLAH .The sermon was wrapped up in seconds ,there wasn't a member who wasn't laughing or trying not to and my nephew was wondering how he was going to look the priest in the eye when we were leaving church ,I almost peed myself

I 20:58:29 Total Physical Memory: 515,372 KB - Available: 31,208 KB
not much memory available how much stuff do you have loaded on startup maybe you could shut some down that you're not using
when you post a log post the complete log
-
try a little program called Burrrn
-
the logs from IMGburn are automatically saved go to HELP--->IMGburn logs and it will be saved as atext file copy and paste it.
FYI We are in a sticky situation when you post that you are downloading movies (avi's) that can be seen as pirating
which is 100% illegal and wont get you any support around here. For legal reasons we dont even discuss bypassing copyright protection its why Decrypter was shut down and we dont wan't that to happen to IMGburn

it doesn't work ? how do you mean ?
please post a log of the burn it'll provide all sorts of info we can use to help solve this problem

DVD Shrink works well enable the quality settings
-
not that large why dont you compress it and put it on a single layer disc then you dont have to worry about a layer break
-
dont use Shrink to make the ISO its not able to do the LB correctly, use IB in Build mode and you should be OK

I've not tried this exactly the same way, but I often burn multiple DL DVD copies of discs from a single ISO. Six simultaneously is the most I've tried and admittedly it is slow. I do four at once all the time. I set up all the burns before starting any. If you start one and and then try and open a second instance, it is often enough to cause problems with the first. If burning two at a time, I set my max burn speed to 4x. Three or more and I knock it back to 2x.
I'm using six Pioneer 109 drives connected via firewire and Verb DL's only. I know everyone will say it's risky (and it is) but if a client is waiting for test copies of their project, you don't want to make them wait!
I don't know if it makes a difference if they are all the same drive type or how they are connected, but so far, so good here.
6 copies? are we talking a duplicator here rather than a standard PC?
