PS3 went back to Sony, I now have a 3rd PS3, the fans were bloody loud, as soon as it was turned on the fans were off, they would have made Richard O'brien happy. New PS3 is like my first one, very quiet, even after 6 hours of cod4 online. D/L br film again, burned it and it works perfectly, like it did before, cant think of any reason why it didnt work when burned, unless some cleaner software I used removed a file/s. Thanks again for the support guys.

sod it, used tsmuxer to remove the main m2ts file and recreate a blu ray structure which then got burned using imgburn, works fine lol. had to have been a file location error or an invalid pointer somewhere, dunno how because it worked before. Have also re-installed vista too, to remove any other problems from equation. Anyway, imgburn works fine, so does new ps3(apart from loud fans) Thank for all the replys people, much appreciated.

nope, dont know anybody else with burner lol. by partitioning and installing yellow dog i take it you mean the ps3 lol. jk. thanks again for the ideas. will post back.

Bugger, new ps3, different media (tdk) same problem. iso's and burns work on pc but not on ps, ??????? I have now tried 4 different film folders and only one has worked so far on the ps3, I did have another work to a point but chuck an error if you skipped chapters. getting stressed people. lol.

Been told I will get a direct replacement 60gb for a 60gb, but it will be a factory recon, all new parts apart from the mobo, but yes it hopefully will be a newer revision.

Ok, its official, my ps3 is screwed, phone call to sony, error codes and other problems discussed and I am getting a replacement on tuesday, will try again next week After re-installing and trying a few things ALL images and disc work thru pdvd8, so hopefully next week we will be celebrating.

write rate is currently 2.3x lol, yesterday it was 1.2x folder plays perfectly, the iso played perfectly, the burn didnt. Im hoping that resetting the pc may have sorted the burn speed issue, re-installed nero and imgburn and pdvd8. burning again added the certificate folder to the mix too not just using the BDMV folder, I've read this can cause probs with pdvd.

tried the disk in pc, same thing. Im using 2x speed bd-re's so it should be a lot faster. spare area's ? tab.

Ok, burned another disk using udf 2.60 this time, disc was not recognised but started and played perfectly until I started pushing the ffw button to check the chapters got to chapter 5 and it chucks up the error ???? checking thru the imgburn setting, does the spare areas option make any difference because I noticed that it was checked, I have never checked that before, also turning on the fast writes didnt make much difference to burning speed, it still took 1h2m to burn an iso made by nero. still trying.

Mobo is an Asus P5K premium as far as I know its not Nvidia. BD-RE was d/l from net not ripped from a disc and has had no modifications. Any iso's made were from this folder, all disc were burned using same source. No processing is applied. Using an LG GGW-H20L for burning with latest firmware.

that might fix powerdvd but not the ps3, I just dont get why it worked perfectly before but not now, only difference is the media. but nobody else has had probs with verbatims and they work fine in powerdvd.

I have two BR-RE disks, one (film 1) doesnt work on anything, 2nd one (film 2) image worked, burned disk works on powerdvd perfectly but chucks up error 80029906 on ps3 any ideas ?

Yep, thats the error lol. Already using the verbatims, got some TDK on order too. I dunno why they work then dont its very wierd, the very first time I tried was with the lg disk and it worked like an original disk would even showing the thumbnail.

Mines as quiet as a dead mouse, only the fan makes any noise.

LOL, made an image with image burn and mounted it with powerdvd 8, it says unsuppoted format blahblah, press play and it works fine, all playback all options are fine, they just dont want to work with my ps3 lol. DT v4.08HE works perfectly with power dvd Ive used it before. Tried again 5 minutes ago with same image and it works fine ??????? Ps3 is not recognising the disc when inserted but when system is reset with disk in it will, playability is 50% ??? Media ??? previously I had used an lg BD-RE Im seriously confused about this, its nuts.

This gets more confusing, just created an image (iso) with imgburn,(using known working BDMV folder) mounted with daemon, played it with powerdvd 8 and it reports it as a disc with an unsupported format, burned it to a BD-RE and the ps3 reports the same. Compared image with folder and they are exactly the same.

I used the EXACT same folder for each of the three burns, the files have been iso'd also and mounted to daemon and they worked perfectly, its only when burned with imgburn they have not worked. Will burn again with nero on a diff bd-re and compare structures.

Ok, really strange, I put the non-working BD-R in afterwards and it played from where the other disk was stopped, but when I tried to forward it the ps3 chucked up the invalid disc error again, the disc does not work otherwise. I recently updated the ps3 firmware to 2.43 maybe this has in some way improved disc compatibility lol.

Ok, brought some Verbatim BD-RE, burnt the same image with imgburn with EXACTLY the same settings. Disk not recognised by ps3, reset ps3 with disc in ps3 sees disk as BD-RE, play disk, get error code "invalid disk" press triangle tell ps3 to "play from begining" disk works. lol. Disk was labelled but name not recognised by ps3 but was when nero'd and it displayed icon picture before but not thru imgburned disk. Imgburn also burnt at 1x when told to burn at 2x. took 1 hour 20 bloody mins lol. Will burn again on nero and see if a different brand of disk makes a difference.
