  1. No, I haven't. I just set it to AUTO. Verbatim DL DVDs aren't that cheap so I can't experiment much with speeds. I need to know what exact speed I should put for it to work. And I'm pretty sure my drive is clean since the laptop is fairly new (only got it a few months ago) and I haven't really used the drive much. Thanks for the help, by the way.
  2. But I've been using these discs before (8x) and it has worked fine.
  3. What was that for? I read that before posting my topic and I already have 8x DVD+R DL Verbatim ones, made in Singapore.
  4. Can't do that. Don't feel like spending 50$ on a new drive just cause one game isn't burning. So, any alternative solutions?
  5. Yeah, I figured I might need to update my firmware and I tried to do it, but with this TSSTCorp (Samsung/Toshiba) drive, it's a real pain in the ass. I went to their website and got this software called Firmware LiveUpdate which supposedly updated it automatically but then I got a "This drive is not supported, search for the firmware manually in the website" message. I searched their website and I couldn't find my model in the English version of the site, but I was able to find it on the Korean one. I thought this was pretty much it, but as soon as I downloaded it I was greeted with this message: This Firmware is not compatible with the selected drive. Contact your system manufacturer for information on firmware updates available for this drive. I really don't know what to do anymore. I've always known these TSSTCorp drives are shitty but it's not that I could choose; that's how my laptop came with. And yes, they're made in Singapore.
  6. Normally this has worked good before, I was able to burn two backups but this time it keeps failing me with this one game in particular. I tried it once, a week ago and it stuck at 11% and failed. It pissed me off since the disc went in vain, but I decided to try it once more today and it went up to 89% and then it failed. Here's the log file (the second time I tried) I 13:28:38 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!I 13:28:38 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1) I 13:28:38 Total Physical Memory: 3,135,164 KB - Available: 1,430,056 KB I 13:28:38 Initialising SPTI...
