  1. Thanks for your idea, good with different options. I went with Shrink since it seemed a bit easier for a newbie at least.
  2. I downloaded DVD Shrink and used it to edit my file in to two folders and then created two images with Imgburn and burned two DVDs. Worked like a charm, both first and second DVD now play perfectly! Thanks so much for your help!
  3. Hi DVD experts! I realize this may not be the place for this question, but maybe somebody can provide a link to where it is described? I have searched but not found how to do this with the softwares I am using: DVD Decrypter and Imageburner. This is the situation: 1) I have succesfully used Decrypter and copied a DVD in to a folder. 2) Since the folder is too big (7.5GB) to fit to one DVD I need to somehow split it in to two DVDs. 3) I have succesfully copied half of the main DVD files and all other supporting files in to folder and then an Image using Image burner and burned a DVD (inlcuding start menu) that plays perfectly in a standalone DVD player. 4) The problems starts with the 2nd DVD...I copied the remaining main DVD movie files and all the other support files (once again) to a new imagefile, burned it to DVD. This second DVD does not play well on the DVD player, I only get the start menu where play movie doies not work. Going to chapters, some chapters work but not well (thumbnail doesn't match and it doesn't play the whole chapter etc). I am sure there are files mis matched etc.... I also tried with only copying the remaining Movile files only and not include all the other files on to the 2nd dvd- this DVD did not play at all. Is there a trick to reconfiguring this second folder prior to making an Image file in Image burner so the second DVD will play OK? Thanks so much.
  4. There's firmware BCIB available for your burner. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it has finished. Thanks UKLIGHTNING on media suggestions, note taken. Thanks MMalves on the firmware link, did the update and voila it created the DVD! It seems to play OK in the TV DVD recorder - but the funny thing is my computer does not see the DVD after it is burned - no media present..not sure why it sees a blank and all other discs. I also burned part two on a DVD and the burn worked, but it will not play on the TV DVD Rec/player, some files are probably missing in the part two image - have to expirment to see what is missing and re-do a image for part two. Same went for this part two disc, my computer did not see it in the drive. Anyone have any idea why DVD 1 can play fine in my TV/DVD but not seen at all by my computer's DVD drive? 5. Thank you for info "the Stig"? ( I am a gearhead / racer and love the show Top Gear, also happen to have a couple of Volvos btw.. ) I found a way to split the files in half and make two individual new images, tried on the first one with a VRIFY session and it was all good. Then went to actual write and it failed at 98% complete with the same sectors failing as in my initial tries with one big file...Do I have bad files to begin with? Or are there files missing in my attempt to split the file in two? Thanks Please see the log for both verify and write sessions below: ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 - Log ; Tuesday, 20 January 2009, 20:34:50 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 19:56:15 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! 6. Hi, Trying to write a (too?) large file, approx 7.6-8 Gb and was hoping to be given the option to write it to two regular DVD's. But I get: I/O error Failed to reserve track Invalid field in Parameter list Tried the FAQ and changed settings as described to manual 32K setting, no luck. Did a search but could not find anyone with the same issue. Is the error due to the too large file to fit on a regular DVD? (I used compusa DVD -R, I do not use dual layer) Is there there a work around? I do NOT know how to split up the file in two if needed...
