  1. Dont worry about it. Put a new burner in and it works perfectly. Thanks.
  2. It is weird....Since I updated the firmware the % of completion moves (very sow, takes 6 hours to complete) and it never did that before with these discs however the device buffer never moves. It stays at 0 the whole time. The "buffer" starts at 100 and stays there for a few minutes (5-10) then drope down to about 53 %. It takes for ever to try and go on the internet or do anything on the computer when I am burning. The burning aso gives me the same error as before after its done (6 hours later). Before I updated the firmware it would just give me the error right away and show 0% for completion the whole time and the rest of my computer would run normal. I also find that when I try and burn now that my Virus scan comes on and starts scanning my computer and I cant close it until I stop the burn. I cant find the computer usage in controll panel, part of the problem is that the computer runs so slow it takes to long to do anything. I hope this helps to give you an idea of the problem............
  3. Not sure I undrstand your question properly....Image burn is the only program running and the nothing else is being used when I try and burn. Is that what you mean?
  4. I followed all of your instructions but still had no luck.......
  5. I went to my system manager and found it was already set to dma (automatic) in the ide controllers branch. I also set my 'Transfer Length' option to 'Manual' instead of 'Automatic' and put it on '32 KB' instead of '64 KB'. It still does the same thing when I try and burn. It is very SLOW...... It takes about 6 hours and when its done the same error comes up as I mentioned at the start of this post. The disc obviously wont work either. I aso have found that since I updated my firmware that when I try and burn my computer becomes increadably slow. Almost to the point where I cant use it. I think it is the burner but if you have another idea for me to try I am all for it! anything to save a buck lol. Thanks.

  7. Thanks for the link. I updated the firmware and my burner appeared to start burning however it did so vey slow. It took about 6 hours lol... I had the speed set at 8x. I think this burner is out of date and ready for the garbage lol. I will stop tortureing myself and buy a new one. Thats got to be the problem............Thanks.
  8. I am trying to find an update for my benq dw 822a but cant get anything, The link above will not open. Does anyone have an update for my firmware that will open and work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  9. Ok thanks for the help I will try and find an updated firmware. If that doesnt work I will buy a new burner. Thanks again.
  10. Ok so your saying its my burner?
  11. Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: RITEKF1) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x). This is what it says for his disc.
  12. I think you mean the discs suck! Is this what your saying?
  13. What do you mean? I am new to all of this stuff lol.
  14. I think I may have answered my own question here..... My friend just let me try one of his discs (the same kind I was using) and it worked. Does it make sence that I have a bad batch of discs?
  15. I am new to this lol. Are you saying I should try a different kind of disc?
