  1. Thanks, Lightning. Any suggestion as to an authoring tool for this? Some time ago, I also downloaded DVD Flick, DVD Shrink 3.2, IsoBuster and Burnplot, but I've never actually used them.
  2. On my wife's favorite exercise DVD, there are two sections that (I think) appear in my VLC player (Playback - Navigation) as Title 3 Chapters 4 and 5. When she plays the DVD on her PowerDVD, she has to start each Chapter manually (by hitting the button for it in the DVD's menu). She wants some type of copy that would play Chapters 4 and 5 and repeat them (at least once) without stop, so she can exercise continuously without a break. Is there a way to do that using ImgBurn? I think, ideally, I would end up with a new DVD that would simply play Chapters 4, 5, 4 and 5 without stopping. If not, then maybe an avi (or similar) file that I could leave as a file on her laptop that would be the same. I have the latest ImgBurn version 2.5.2.0. And that's on a Dell PC with WinXPPro SP3. Another possibility is finding a setting in VLC video player that does the same thing while playing the original DVD. Make some type of playlist (?) that selects and plays Chapters 4, 5, 4 and 5 from the original DVD without stopping? Now that I think of it, that might be better because we could use the technique flexibly on all her DVD's without having to burn a custom copy each time. But please leave step-by-step instructions. I have VLC media player 1.1.4. Indeed, I just tried to do this, and the VLC seems NOT to go from dvd://3:4 to dvd://3:5 continuously but instead goes back to the DVD menu. In the VLC player, I also tried to use "Loop from point A to point B continuously", but I cannot get it to work for this. Also, what if she wanted Chapters 3, 5, 3 and 5? [As far as I can tell, both these Chapters 4 and 5 are in a single file on the DVD with the file name VTS_02_3.VOB. But I don't have the patience to play that file (as a file) to see what happens half-way through (between Chapters 4 and 5). Also, that particular file seems to start a few seconds after the normal start of Chapter 4 - it misses the on-screen start title of Chapter 4 but goes straight into the following dancercise movie. Anyway, it's just luck in this case that both Chapters 4 and 5 appear in that one file, and it won't be the same the next time she wants to do this with a different DVD.] Thanks in advance for your responses. I did take a quick look in the Guide, but didn't find an instant answer. Probably in there somewhere but I'd have to spend lots of time experimenting and ruining blank DVD's. One of you surely has the wisdom ...
  3. Dear Author: Thanks for fast reply! But you are WAY ahead of me technically. The MSDN info at your link doesn't really speak to my concern. Could you elaborate a bit? Does your delete really write over the file?
  4. How strong is the "Delete" in "Delete Image"? Is it one of those powerful apps that overwrites the original file on my hardrive with 0's and 1's, or is just like the "Delete" button, which leaves the info on my hard drive? Thanks.
  5. I'm getting an error message over and over when I try to burn a new DVD. (I had converted an .avi into a VIDEO_TS folder using DVD Flick, but then I get the error message when I try to burn the DVD.) Now, to be fair, the files in the VIDEO_TS folder are slightly too big for the capacity of the blank single-layer DVD-R disk. The files are about 5% too big. But I indicate I want to burn anyway. Then I get the error message. I tried two different blank disks. PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHMENT (a Word doc) FOR ALL THE INFO - THE ERROR MESSAGE, THE INFO IN THE IMGBURN WINDOW, AND THE LOG. What do you suggest? I'm a newbie so this has been too technical for me. Many thanks! imgburn error.doc
  6. Mr or Ms. Malves: Thanks for info and for more help with this great program! A few follow-up questions: My DVD drive's "Capabilities" include reading from and writing to: DVD-R DL DVD-RW DL DVD+R DL Are these dual-layer? If yes, when I wish to burn a copy of the source MDS file, must I first manually configure ImgBurn to use the DL capability? Very roughly, how much should one of these special blank DVD's cost? By the way, since I'm doing this for the first time, I note that my original read of the source created two files on my computer - an MDS file (very small) and an ISO file (> 7GB, matching the source DVD). But, following the instructions for ImgBurn, I'm selecting the MDS file for burning. Please confirm that's the right way to go. Finally, is there a pdf with a full user's manual for novices like me? Much obliged!
  7. Just started with ImgBurn - what a superb program!! Here's my question - I would like to copy an 8GB DVD onto two DVD-RWs that hold about 4.7GB each. One DVD-RW is too small to burn the entire 8GB source MDS file. Is it possible to set ImgBurn to burn it onto two DVD-RWs? If not, if I buy a blank DVD+RW, will it be big enough? Thanks!
